Sept 10 update: After my July 22 update (see below), a âHamzaâ from Northstar reached out, saying that he was the new manager of the location and apologized profusely, saying that it would be a pleasure to assist me. I reached out the next day saying I just wanted the out the door numbers. No response. On August 11 I sent the same thing again. He responded saying heâd be in the office at noon. No response. I reached out again on August 15. No response. I see today that they have removed the van from their website. They apparently found someone they liked, or something. I donât even know anymore. They have reviews on Google that violate Googleâs terms. Daisha Cepeda, an employee that responded to me, has multiple 5 star reviews on there, praising Hamza. Stay away; stay away; stay away.
This has been the most frustrating attempt Iâve ever had to give someone my money. April 6: I contacted Northstar Kia via their website about a used Ram ProMaster, noting I was out-of-state and requesting details and media since I couldnât visit. Their reply asked if Iâd like to see a âMitsubishiâ today or tomorrow, ignoring my questions and situation. I clarified and reasked. April 7: Daisha Cepeda emailed a Carfax summary but didnât address my questions. I replied, still seeking answers. Throughout, I got automated emails from Daisha, Nairoby Valverde, and Ludys Acosta, adding confusion. I responded each time, asking for updates. I expect Bibi Singh will reply to this review with apologies and his email, but I doubt this dealership can regain my trust. April 15: A text via their CRM finally included photos and video. I asked for pricing. The next day, Pierre Rothwell texted, offering to call. I said anytime; I just wanted numbers. April 22: I emailed for an update. Ludys called, saying the price with no trade/no financing was the Retail Price ($44,000) plus taxes, DMV, and a $175 doc feeânothing else. I confirmed that with $3,000 in taxes/DMV, the out-the-door (OTD) price would be $47,175. She agreed, noting a sales manager would calculate exact taxes. April 23: An email said Pierre would reach out soon. He called that evening, saying the internet price included a $1,000 financing discount and a $2,500 trade-in discount. I said I could be there on the 26th if the numbers worked. He promised OTD numbers after consulting his sales manager. April 24: A text told me to contact Pierreâs cell. I asked for an ETA on OTD numbers. He said his sales manager would provide them the next day. April 26: Pierre texted that the sales manager was working on it and would contact me soon. Later, I asked again. He replied: âThe numbers are in: $54,500 OTD.â April 28: I thanked Pierre but questioned the $54,500 OTD price, reminding him of Ludysâ quote: vehicle price plus taxes, DMV, and $175 doc fee. I requested a breakdown. He said the van was priced at $47,995 (not $44,000 as before). I noted $54,500 minus $47,995 left $6,505 in taxes/fees and asked for clarification. April 29: I texted for an update. Pierre replied, âTaxes, tags, fees,â and called. I asked for specifics, but he couldnât provide them, mentioning a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) and saying details would be on the buyer sheet when I was ready to buy. I insisted I needed numbers first. Later, I calculated taxes and fees for a $47,995 price at $3,257.95, leaving $3,247.05 unexplained. I asked what these âfeesâ were; Pierre said heâd inform his manager. May 6: I texted asking when the manager would respond. No reply. I never got to negotiate the price. They have the van I want, but they donât seem to want to sell it. Caveat Emptor!
July 22 update: The van is still listed as being for sale and the price has dropped a few thousand more. So frustrating that the dealership is so shady that I won't contact them again about a van that really...
Read moreBe aware of any dealership including this place. They will overprice their vehicle offering many things, when you come up with negotiation, then the real drama begins.
Mark, the finance assistance gentleman is a phenomenal guy. Just for him, I gave 3 stars otherwise it would have been zero star if possible. God bless him, his advice, tenacity is really appreciated.
Salesman says something then the manager come up with something you will find branch manager with another offer, stories to tell and so on. Here are some things that I would like to warn future car owners who are getting vehicles from here.
Do not ask any information over the phone if you are interested in certain car listing. Do your own research, look up VIN number and all informative things you can get online from carfax or any third party dealership.
This dealership 's phone receptionist will never tell you if it met an accident or had lemon title before especially for out of state car seeking folks...be aware of it. She is a ni brainer lady who has no idea about anything.
Once you like a specfic car, take the car model number based on VIN, look up on google to check on average online prices, they might show you one car but could be very sneaky, they might provide you an upgraded model version of that vehicle I don't know why do they do that, so take the vin number look up online do your own research ,
then visit another dealership compare prices, then finalize pricing with very low down payment or zero, how much net car price, how much would be for finance without interests at first place, then come up with a big amount of down payment whoever can afford so they can not change their financing offer which happened with me, based on my experience I am telling to people all this, take a look at final bill of sales estimate and do not purchase any of their warranty packages, they will end up giving you something lowest warranty based package anyway... they lie, everyone lies there, they close on a deal and later, if anything happens then they like to blame it on the salesman saying he is working new so without much knowledge they made mistake or miscommunication including manager lies about finance assistance $1k offer later they deny on that saying they gave you car with a loss if possible they can't say that I wish they could tell you that I am giving you car for free,
however, manager Ron and salesman are much nicer though I had contentious issue with both Ron and my salesman,....still they are far better than the biggest scammer Hamza. While getting bill of sales before sending your information to dmv for temporary registration, license plate and calling your insurance for vehicle purchase, always look into the transaction details to see if this is what you were looking for or satisfied with as they will lure you about giving discounts but they won't hand over the receipt until it's too late for you to realize what just happened. They do not include those free offers or assistance fee unless I guess someone is buying a car for zero down payment or very little amount so they can make tons of money instead of a specific marginal profit. I was scammed and I am being gaslight. It's a horror experience. They are scammer.
They take advantage of no brainer people. You will end up having ongoing arguments even after the sale was made...there is no solution to that. So be proactive and smart before buying any vehicle or house.always negotiate for a reasonable amount of price, visit a few dealership to finalize on net car price and what offers they have for you because all dealerships are the same.
It's your choice how you can minimize on paying less that you earned from your hardworking job salary, business revenue also they will have their profit on that car so both...
Read moreOK, so firstly, I was told over the phone that you can get a car with nothing down that it wasnât necessary and that they werenât going to do a credit check. I did mention that I was going to at least put $500 down when I got there. It was a whole different story. They tried to approve me for a 2024 outlander sport, which was special of the zero down. Like I mentioned, they said they wouldnât check my credit. They checked it three times, lowering my credit score by 12 points. then asked if I can put more down. I said I can only afford 1000 and that was the most. Me and my fiancĂ© sat there for 12 hours. They kept saying youâre approved. Youâre approved, but then they would rebuttal and say we just need this. Do you think you could put more down? I proceeded to tell them thatâs all I had. I even tried to put my mom down as a cosigner. Even with her, I wasnât able to get approved. Lastly, before we left, we told them donât charge the card and they did anyway & also they made me get insurance before even being approved which I still never got my money back from that. This was on Friday October 25th We arrived at 11am & we didnât leave until 9:45 pm! Mind you we spent $100 to get there and $100 to get back & left with no vehicle! What a complete waste of time! Also We had to wait 1 week to get a refund back since they charged our card without being approved!! Scam artist!! Not to mention when I get home after leaving at almost 10pm I realize they have my license! Then when I call my sales guy he goes Iâll send it out tomorrow morning. So I called that next morning and he said I mailed it out so I allowed it about a week. Mind you theyâre in New York and Iâm in New Jersey. after week passes by, I call and the boss goes oh I didnât know he even know he sent it out. I said yes thatâs what he said. He goes let me ask him. Then he comes back to the phone & says yes he sent it out at the post office it left in an special envelope. I said ok well if it did it should have a tracking number. Well apparently it donât have one! Which is unbelievable. Today makes two weeks! & I still donât have my license! So mid last week while I realized they sent no tracking. The boss goes we will send you a check to cover your license. I said ok then two days ago I ask did you guys send the check no answer & no response. Overall this dealership is TERRIBLE! DO NOT come here if you value your time & money! Worst...
