Howard Brubaker (Jack Lemon) from 'The April Fools' (1969) movie brought me here. Actually I flew on Google Earth 🌎 from San Diego to 140 Broadway NY. I was pleasantly surprised to find the building and it's red cube plus the beautiful 1930s building to it's right all still standing and looking the same and beautiful as in the classic 1969 movie. Sadly here in San Diego, and LA as well, are full of transplant (non-locals) folk who've converged upon our city's governments and have zero respect for architecture of past thus demolishing so many historic landmark buildings to errect 100s of cheap looking eyesores like cheaply built condos and whatnot, half of which are to try housing the chronic homelessness problem which has become a virus of it's own right here. Red Cube has been there for fifty years, I think. Just wonderful and is a delight to see, every time. Controversial new redesign of the plaza is afoot so you might want to see it now, before the original architectural concept is corrupted by the addition of trees, walls, seating. Red Cube will...
