It's a cool place with unique attractions. We bought our tickets on a third-party website and needed to wait in a long line to secure our entry time which was for a few hours after. When we arrived for our entry time, we had to wait another hour in line. Then another line to enter the first attraction. Then another line for another attraction and then another line. There is a lot of hurry up and wait here which makes it much less enjoyable. Also, some of the staff is really friendly and helpful while others are rude and unhelpful.
You exit from the same place you entered. No employee told our group about coat check or bathrooms before we entered the first attraction, and you cannot get back until you finish the entire tour. There is absolutely no bathrooms throughout the course of the tour until the very end (which is also the beginning). I have never seen this. I asked an employee after the first attraction if there was a bathroom I could use before continuing with the tour, and she said "continue and go down to the bathroom and then come up, but I need you to move along now." She meant I needed need to go through the entire tour to use the bathroom and then come back, which is impossible as there are checkpoints and lines between each section of the tour. It is ridiculous that no one told our group about the bathroom situation and that no one allowed us to use the bathroom before we continued.
It is a cool place that needs a lot more re-organization, employee training, and communication with guests. The last part of the tour was the best part with the 4D screen experience but that does not leave me with any happy feeling if I could not enjoy the rest of...
Read moreI had no idea what to expect from RiseNY. I discovered it from a TikTok video, we were in the area and decided to just go for it. We bought the tickets at the entrance took an elevator up and went into a room designed to look like a Subway with a projector video playing on a wall and saw a video of NewYork’s history. After the video, they open the doors to a museum where you can see TV sets and other pop culture related things that pertain to NewYork. After the self guided tour through the museum with a lot of Instagram photo shot opportunities the staff groups up, whoever is there and you go into an elevator shaft kind of thing where you don’t really know what’s going on and then into another room that’s designed to be like you’re listening to a live broadcast then you get to ride the ride. The ride itself was fun and reminded me of Disneyland’s ride “Soarin’ Over California”. Definitely the same technology, you sit down in a seat and the staff makes sure you are strapped up and safe the ride turns over to a screen and stimulates movement like you are going over New York City sometimes tilts you up and down. I think they use smells to get us to smell certain thing they definitely did mist us. Perfect for family’s. It’s a little gimmicky but that’s to be expected. I enjoyed myself and had a great experience. It’s fun and different. The ride is not a thrill...
Read moreThis review comes months late, but I went January 2024 for reference
I had been wanting to come here for quite some time cause every time I went around Times Square, RISE NY kept staring me in the face. So I decided as a treat for myself for my birthday I would finally go in. I took work off and decided to go on a solo adventure in the middle of the week.
Firstly, and unsurprisingly, it was pretty empty, which I LOVED. Midweek in the early afternoon was the perfect time to go. As I walked through the experience it was immersive, very cool and neatly put together, and educational about NY's history. It made me a proud native New Yorker watching the videos and interacting with each experience.
Finally, after going through all the exhibits, you get to ride RISENY. If you've been to Disney's Epcot or Disneyland, it's the exact same model as the Soarin' ride. I expected it to be a bit lame and corny but I was pleasantly surprised. It was overall a really fun time and I'd come back to go with friends who've never been.
Tips: --Look for promo codes online! --Free coat check at the beginning --Come with a friend if you want cool photos with you in it, but otherwise solo dolo is fun --The ride is super tame if rides make you nervous. I was sitting next to a...
