45 Times Square Hotel — Hotel in New York

I never heard back from management or front desk about our recent stay there, and complained in person as well as via email. They responded with their smoking policy and an apology on Trip Advisor, but due to the misleading marketing and lack of policy enforcement (because I continued to smell smoke for the rest of my stay), I feel we deserve some discount. That has not been offered. I also never received any responses to my email I sent during our stay, which was over a week ago. I understand that they are renovating, but that should be in your marketing and again, our room and bed was marketed looking completely different than the one we were placed in. When there are less costly hotels in an area, it is sketchy to market something the customer will not be getting. We were on a budget and if I had known my room was going to be smaller than the photos in the site, I would have booked PODS. I will not be back to this hotel unless they become more transparent about their rooms/enforce no smoking.

The good? Bed was comfortable. Shower was nice. Security man had the best customer service out of everyone.

Copying my email I wrote while we were there that received 0 response or effort to assist. I ended up in the hospital because of drowning in cigarette smoke that came into our room. Horrible. Aloha, We arrived from Hawaii on the 10th. After a long day of travel, I was looking forward to the Queen room we saw in photos on the website. Much to my dismay, the room is not at all what you guys marketed on the site which is very misleading. I let front desk know and they said basic rooms were even smaller, but had I known I was going to be paying this price for such a small room, I would have opted to stay at PODS (which was cheaper than here). The reason I went with it over PODS was because the smaller rooms were sold out at your hotel and I thought maybe for a little more, a Queen would be nice. But I am not happy with the lack of space and how claustrophobic I feel.

To make everything worse, I ended up having no sleep today when we were trying to rest because there was smoking on our floor. Security tried to find who it was but said someone was burning incense….i think whoever that was is lying because I’m allergic to cigarette smoke and my throat closes up. I have never had allergic reaction to incense.

I feel stuck here, and literally suffering through the night because our room still smells like smoke. This was not a good stay at all OR relaxing or anything else marketed on the site.

I will give you guys time to respond but if I don’t hear back in 24 hours, I will be posting a review.

Also, the front desk didn’t seem at all willing to help us by giving directions to Grand Central. The security guy caught us on the way out to make sure we were okay. He was the best part of the experience, maybe even the only positive. It’s not like front desk was busy. She was sitting there looking out the window. Also, keys kept breaking and not working in the scanner for our door. I had to come down from the 11th floor 3 times in a row.

Not worth the money for a horrible experience, especially the misleading marketing and the no enforcement of the smoking in rooms. They should put alarms in the rooms or sensors so that way they can catch people who are breaking hotel policy. Now I am stuck with an additional bill from CityMD to. Pay back for my visit with them since I needed to get a steroid shot after being severely affected...

What an awesome hotel!! It was my very first vacation (as an adult) and my very first time oversees as well (from Germany - US) and I could not have made a better decision than choosing this hotel for my NYC stay. First off you almost can’t have a better location. You walk out of the door and within 1 minute walking along 45th street you are standing right in the middle of times square, which is incredible. Multiple different subway lines are also nearby (within 3-5min). Even though it might get a bit loud in the evening (due to much traffic or music at times square) the windows are very soundproof so you are not going to notice much of it anyway. The hotel itself was just beautiful and very pleasant. The receptionist was very friendly and competent. The complimentary gifts I got were so cute. A welcoming card combined with Belgium Chocolate pralines, some candies and two bottles of water standing ready in a mini refrigerator as well as some coffee. The bathroom was very clean and had all toiletries you could ask for like clean towels, multiple shampoos, soap and body lotion. I loved the shower and the design overall. I also liked that the toilet had its own room, separating it from the shower and the sink. The bed was very comfortable and the TV had a great size and a great selection of TV channels. The room itself was pretty spacious and the closet was also big enough to store all of my baggage. Like I said, it also had a mini refrigerator as well as a safe inside the closet. There even was an ironing board and iron in the closet! The AC was very quiet (compared to the ACs at three other hotels I stayed at during my US trip) The WiFi was very fast and I had a great connection even from the top floor. The staff was very nice and really respects your privacy as I only let my room had room service once since I almost always let the “Do Not Disturb” card hang on my door knob During my 10 day stay (as I dont really like my room to be cleaned actually). As I did that 2 days in a row they just slipped a card under the door letting me know that they tried to service the room. They continued this the following days until I “allowed” room service. So I really liked that procedure as well. That one day I allowed room service I was also more than satisfied. They also had a live singer in the lobby which was also quite cool. I didnt check out everything that the hotel had to offer but I saw that they had laundry service as well.

Overall I could not have asked for much more. It was so pleasant that it really made my NYC trip unforgettably perfect. I don’t even know what I miss more: the hotel or NYC :D I’m definitely gonna stay at this hotel again once I visit the US and NYC again with friends, family or future girlfriend!! And I will also recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit NYC. I really hope they can keep up that service and everything else there! Because I found it to be perfect! Best value for money! We have booked a double room with breakfast in the hotel for one week. The room was very spacious and ideal for a city trip. The walls were a little thin and therefore badly sounproofed, but the room neighbours fortunately kept the night's rest as we did. All in all, the room was very well cleaned and also in the following days, the room cleaning was impeccable. The location of the hotel is very central in a side street close to Times Square, nevertheless, one can enjoy some quiet moments here. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and had a very good selection, on request, you could even order freshly prepared Pan Cakes. If food was out of stock, it was refilled immediately. All in all, the hotel staff was also very friendly and very eager to take care of the guests. Unfortunately, we had problems with a defective air conditioning system. Here we were quickly offered an alternative room, which unfortunately also had the same problem. The hotel staff and the manageress of the hotel also showed a lot of effort, apologized many times for the inconvenience and finally found a very good solution for the problem.

All in all, we can absolutely recommend the hotel to others, we felt very comfortable here and also appreciated as guests, so that we will gladly come back again. All in all an absolute recommendation! Wir haben für eine Woche ein Doppelzimmer mit Frühstück in dem Hotel gebucht. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und ideal für einen Städte-Trip. Die Wände waren zwar etwas dünn und damit hellhörig, die Zimmer-Nachbarn haben aber glücklicherweise ebenso die Nachtruhe eingehalten wie wir. Insgesamt war das Zimmer sehr gut gereinigt, und auch in den folgenden Tagen war die Zimmer-Reinigung tadellos. Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr zentral in einer Seitenstraße in der Nähe des Times Square, trotzdem kann man hier ruhige Momente erleben. Das Frühstücks-Buffet war sehr umfangreich und hatte eine sehr gute Auswahl, auf Wunsch konnte man sogar frisch zubereitet Pan-Cakes bestellen. Sofern Speisen nicht mehr vorrätig waren, wurden sie sofort nachgefüllt. Insgesamt war auch das Hotel-Personal sehr freundlich und sehr bemüht, sich um die Gäste zu kümmern. Wir hatten leider Probleme mit einer defekten Klima-Anlage. Hier wurde uns schnell ein alternatives Zimmer angeboten, welches jedoch leider auch dasselbe Problem aufwies. Das Hotel-Personal und die Managerin des Hotels zeigten sich hier aber auch sehr bemüht, haben sich vielfach für die Unannehmlichkeiten entschuldigt und fanden letztlich eine sehr gute Lösung für das Problem.

Insgesamt können wir das Hotel absolut weiterempfehlen, wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und als Gäste auch wertgeschätzt, so dass wir gerne wiederkommen werden. Insgesamt eine...
