I would fly to New York every month just to be around these awesome people if I could afford it! MC, Becky, Brian and Naya, Thank you for such a wonderful experience for my husband's 40th birthday and the spectacular New Years Eve event!!! Thank you to the other employees thats light and energy filled the room with so much fun and laughter. This Bubba Gump has a rock star team that I cannot wait to visit again. You all are amazing, thank you again for such an awesome time!!! xoxo
For those who want to book for New Years Eve, my husband and I started booking our hotel, flights etc in February of 2023. We bought the Bubba Gump New Years Eve tickets the day they came out (sign up through email to be notified of when sales begin, which I believe was around August/Sept).
The streets were crowded BUT it was very very very safe once we got through security. I feel it's the safest place to be on New Years Eve with how much security was present and all the precautions that were taken. It's getting through the crowd to the meeting point, where a Bubba Gump employee will meet you in a red visor, to get you through security which can be a pain. But you can do it, just give yourself time, don't engage with the homeless nor those dressed up in character costumes and say sorry as you move through the crowd to the meeting spot.
We met two couples at the event, very nice people and we had a ton of fun. I feel you can leave your belongings at a booth and they won't be touched, ours weren't. There was a lot of food throughout the entire night. Drinks of whatever the bar had, was served all night. Bubba's mascot came out to dance, there was the limbo and congo line, two photo booth areas... tons of festive party favors given out and a goodybag that included a shirt, large tumbler, and more.
To end, the New Years Eve event was the best party and celebration I have ever been to where I've had zero regrets after LOL! I would 100% hands down do it again.. and seriously... they should be charging more because that is how great of a deal this is, but they humbly do not.
This place and it's people,...
Read moreThis is a cool spot especially if you’re visiting because it has really nice and big window views of Times Square if you’re lucky to get those tables. The tables are all differently located inside their crab shack and some are better than others so you won’t know what you get each time you come. I usually like to sit at the bar but their bar area is too tucked inside and offers no view of outside and quite a small bar area so table is the way to go.
The service is very slow because they have just one guy covering several tables where I am so looks like they need more help but the dude is quite friendly.
If you love shrimp, this is the place to be because they cook it in all the ways possible and some dishes better than others. I did not like the jambalaya because the rice was so soggy. It had Cajun seasoning with shrimp, some chicken, and few sausages which I don’t think is worth it because I expected more ingredients and the jambalaya I make at home tastes better. The shrimp cocktail was labeled “jumbo” on the menu but was not and same size as the shrimps in the other dishes. I did get a lot like around 8 instead of usual 3 or 4 but I actually prefer bigger and less. They were flavorless without sauce and was not my favorite. Fried shrimp was a bit better but I’m not into fried foods these days. If you get these, just get the regular fried ones because the other fried versions have tons of batter and you end up filling yourself quickly with fried batter. The best dish here was the Shrimper’s Net and you can get it spicy with Cajun or with garlic. Make sure to get a pound because half pound was so small and just not enough. Not sure what they did, but they made peeling shells so easy and they almost come off without any effort but these shrimps are so delicious that I might get two...
Read moreDuring our recent trip to New York, we decided to dine at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., conveniently located in the bustling Times Square. Upon entering the first floor, known as Gump Gear, we encountered a long but well-organized line. Impressively, we only waited about 10 minutes before our names were called.
We were then directed to a second line on the restaurant's second floor, which was managed efficiently by the restaurant staff. Within less than five minutes, we were seated at our table.
The restaurant's decor is charming, designed to resemble a West Coast fisherman’s warehouse with a vintage, rustic barn look. The ambiance is enhanced with various memorabilia from the movie "Forrest Gump." Our booth seating was particularly cool, featuring personalized U.S. license plates. A clever touch: a blue "license plate" signals to servers that everything is fine at your table, while a red sign indicates you need assistance.
Despite the restaurant being crowded, our server was incredibly friendly and swift. She managed her tables efficiently without compromising on service quality. We ordered the original shrimp, calamari, and rice. The dishes were delightful, reminiscent of familiar Asian flavors, and the steamed rice complemented the meal perfectly.
Towards the end of our meal, we participated in trivia questions, which added a fun element to our dining experience. Despite having watched "Forrest Gump" more than ten times, we had a "fart-brain" moment and couldn’t recall the answers. It was all in good humor, and our server was both nice and helpful throughout.
Overall, we had a great time at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and will definitely be returning. The combination of excellent service, enjoyable food, and a fun atmosphere made for a memorable...
