Sideshows by the Seashore — Attraction in New York

I'm a native New Yorker ( lived there 45 yrs ) and Coney Island side show was a very special place. I knew the current manager, the profromers are highly skilled and extremely nice people. Fyi I was allowed in a closed after wedding show, I had a great memory of the acts going back some years.i hope they are still at Coney Island? After you get ur Nathan's famous hot dog, I suggest you swing by and give them a visit. I'm sure you will be Amazed like I was. I was there so often I saw them not as " freaks " but as cool people who I'm proud to call them...

We came to see our friends' sideshow act, which was wonderful! The decor here is bright and stimulating with lots of traditional old-school sideshow memorabilia mixed in with new takes on the vaudevillian era. The stage area is kind of cramped, but also intimate. The state of the building itself is somewhat questionable as the adjective 'crumbly' pops to mind, but throw some stickers and paint around and WahLah; Facelift! Just don't look for the Man behind the Curtain, haha. Totally a place...

Coney Island is a great place to spend the day. There was a large Beach and amusement park and my personal favorite is the sideshow. The performers are great. It is a smaller building with a little Museum and Gift Shop. The show is in a small room and we were among only 15-20 people. The sideshow is a dying art, which is such a shame.
