Considering this location just opened this week, it’s understandable to have some hiccups - but don’t think I’ll be returning for a bit to this location (at least until the staff has had some time to get used to their new work environment.) I’ve heard high praises from friends who visited other Kpot locations & was excited to hear that they opened one in South Brooklyn. Upon dining it was a bit confusing as the restaurant was in the same building as Hook & Reel - along with the same front desk. We weren’t too concerned with the two hour time limit prior to being seated, but due to the entirety of the staff being new it took about an hour to receive the food we ordered - and we still had to cook it. It really did seem as if all the staff were running around lost, which isn’t their fault - it just means there was a severe lack of training on what to do, say, or even serve food. We were approached by multiple waitresses and waiters who weren’t dedicated to our table, complaining about the service aspect of the restaurant and how it was difficult to put orders in and get the food out. Once you have random staff members complaining to the diners of the restaurant, you know there’s something wrong. The food really wasn’t the best and we have had better quality hot pot and bbq elsewhere. Due to the staff struggling to get food out, by the time we received our food all our soup had boiled away and we weren’t even able to focus on the hot pot (no offer to refill either, just told to turn it off so it didn’t burn.) To top this dining experience all off, we also got to experience the diners on the second floor (Hook & Reel) drop food and plates from the second floor onto the diners of the first (yes, onto us, with a plate and food falling directly on people’s heads.) Completely accidental, but still unsavory. For the price it really is a great value, so it was a shame the experience wasn’t the best. Would consider trying this place again in the future, but really would love to see the staff receive more training before returning.

I had the most delightful experience at this KPOT! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an incredible evening. The hotpot and barbecue options were beyond amazing. Each bite was a flavorful journey, and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. The hotpot broth was rich and aromatic, creating a perfect base for the fresh and diverse selection of ingredients. The barbecue options were seasoned to perfection, offering a fantastic variety of meats and vegetables grilled to mouthwatering perfection. What truly stood out, though, was the impeccable customer service. Yvonne and Tao(the manager) went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of spectacular. They were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making recommendations that elevated our dining experience. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal with friends or family. Cleanliness and attention to detail were evident throughout our visit, adding to the overall positive impression. I can't recommend this particular KPOT highly enough! Whether you're a hotpot enthusiast, barbecue lover, or simply someone who appreciates exceptional customer service, this restaurant is a must-visit. It's an experience that combines delicious food with outstanding hospitality, creating unforgettable moments. Kudos to the entire team at KPOT for their dedication to providing an exceptional dining experience. I'll definitely be returning soon to indulge in more of their incredible offerings! This place is also a short walk from Coney Island’s Luna Park. It would make a nice meal with family and friends if you’re around Coney Island!

First things first, expect a wait when you get here on a weekend evening. We came at around 7 pm on a Saturday. We had a group of 7. There was only one or two tables that can fit a bigger party than 6 so we would have had to wait an hour or even longer to be seated at the right table. The reason for this is because most tables only have 6 hot plates for hot pot. However, a 6 man table opened up for us within 15 minutes and two of our group would have to share a hotpot. The seats were spacious enough to fit 8 people however, so it was fine. We ordered BBQ and hotpot so it came out to $37 per person excluding tax. They change the grill plates once they see you have some burnt layer on the grill plates. They come frequently enough. They also have water jugs near some tables so it was easy to ask them for a refill. They have a variety of sauces and soup bases to choose from and they were pretty tasty! Ordering AYCE gets you an hour and a half of food but they didn’t rush us out when it was time, because tables started emptying out. We just couldn’t order anymore. The BBQ was delicious. The meats come pre marinated. The hotpot was decent, I had the Miso soup, but I made a peanut butter base sauce that was amazing to dip the hot pot food in, and it made the hot pot delicious as well. The second you walk in here, you are hit with a strong aroma of BBQ smoke. Your clothes will be covered with BBQ smoke when you walk out! The male bathroom has 3 stalls. So there is sometimes a wait when you gotta do your business. Overall, an amazing experience, would come here again!

Lol I'm amending my review based on my experience on 07/15 ( orig review posted below) and the fact not only my review but other's bad service related reviews were taken down. If you guys dont want to listen to any OUNCE of negative reviews then de list yourself off of google maps and any other review service.

I have no idea what was wrong on 07/15 with service but it was genuinely some of the most horrible service I have ever seen in an eatery. Me and 2 friend's came in for KBBQ with the expectation of having a good time as we had not too long after it opened. At around 3:00pm yesterday there was maybe less than 10 tables with ours included, our waitress brings in our drinks and helps us get started with out first order which was the highlight of service. We order a refill of our water and are waiting a rather considerable amount of time relative to how little it was populated, 15 minutes in more water. For some reason when asked there were no knives available, which fine ok we'll manage. Food was delivered promptly because other staff cart it in. I asked our waitress for a 3rd tong as we had 2 for the table, a couple times I asked and I never received it.

Then are the highlights. Some idiot on the second floor managed to drop their drink on our table most of it landing on me and one of my friend's. Luckily it was just water and not a sugary beverage or whatever seafood boil water that is served in the venue upstairs. Staff saw this happen and didnt even check to make sure what it was that poured down. When our grill needed replacing at this point (and our grill randomly shut off), we are waiting for someone to be within earshot so we can ask, in about 20 minutes we have a new grill. Even though we ordered our second round our grill was never turned back on despite having a new grill put on and 2 plates of meat waiting. half an hour passed by and no one turns the grill back on despite us asking several times. At this point we decide to cut our losses and just ask for the check, paid and left.

I've never seen anything like this even in crowded establishments, this was not $116.27 well spent. If this standard of apathetic service is the new thing for this location, I wouldnt bother coming back or recommend new...

I cannot express how deeply disappointed I am with my recent visit on 07/15/2023. To start, we were outright ignored by the waitress. It felt as though we were invisible, and trying to get her attention was an uphill battle. Our frustration only intensified when we realized that our grill was not changed after we had grilled a substantial amount of meat on it. The remnants of previous meals lingered and made it difficult to grill new meat.

Throughout the meal, we had to repeatedly ask for basic necessities like utensils, napkins, and even drink refills. Each request seemed to fall on deaf ears, and we were left feeling like a burden rather than paying customers deserving of proper service.

As if that wasn't enough, disaster struck from above when someone on the second floor dropped a drink on our group. It was a shocking and unfortunate accident, but what made it worse was the staff's complete lack of concern. They made no effort to check on us or bring us any napkins to clean up the mess. The disregard for our well-being and comfort was disheartening.

Adding insult to injury, at one point during our meal, our grill was mysteriously shut off, and despite bringing it to the staff's attention, they didn't bother to turn it back on. We were left waiting for an extended period, with no resolution or explanation. It was a clear display of negligence and disregard for the customer's dining experience.

In addition to the series of disappointing experiences during our visit, I must also highlight a concerning and unprofessional incident that occurred after our meal. One of the members of my group took to leave a review expressing their dissatisfaction with the appalling service and unsanitary conditions we encountered. However, to our astonishment, that review was promptly deleted by...
