Sight MD is a network of ophthalmology offices and you will never get through to the office. Don't bother calling hoping to talk to someone in the office you visit. You call a main switchboard and they direct your call to various locations/departments but it goes to the voicemail. I've left a few voicemails. I'm not holding my breath for return phone call.
I went in 10 minutes early since I was a new patient. The wait was long (over 30 minutes) but I was okay with that. (See below for reason)
The receptionist, I believe is bad to borderline incompetent. He asked for ins and id and then said "sign here" pointing at a small pad. I asked why? He said it's for the forms. What forms? He didn't give me anything to read over. He said "when you sign it I'll print it out for you. It's standard forms" um no guy. That's not how it works!!! I tried to laugh it off and asked for the form. He wouldn't. I felt coerced to sign bc he won't let you do anything further until you do. So you have no choice. Even when you insist he doesn't. There's a printer behind him. Im sure there's a copy machine somewhere. Keep it out. Let ppl know what they're signing. I asked he wouldn't give it to me. Yes I understand it's standard. But I should look at it. I signed it bc I felt like I couldn't get anywhere if I didn't. (I can't see well that's why I'm there!) I signed hipaa form (again he didn't provide) and I also signed the auth for electronic medical info sending. (Again he didn't provide).
I don't care if we're in a digital age. Have forms available in print form so people know what they're signing. If they want to save on paper have an iPad with form I can read.
I met with Mr. Singh, the technician who measured eyesight and took medical history information. He was ok/good. I liked the level of care received. I wish he'd take time to adjust the lens to the person's height. I had to hunch over to get my chin in the proper position. I hate bad posture. But I am still satisfied with the care I received.
I then met with Dr. Vivek Kumar and he checked my eyesight again. I had many questions since I can't see very well anymore (aging) and I just had many questions. He was kind and answered all of them. He explained and went over many options I could take for my impaired vision. Since he was so thorough in all addressing my concerns I can understand why the wait was a bit long. I didn't feel rushed at all so I'm sure he is the same with others which makes the wait time understandable. He put pupil dilating drops on my eyes during my exam and when I came out I was a bit blinded since it was bit dim in the office and the light transition was harsh even though it was a cloudy day. I had to put sunglasses on but had trouble adjusting to the outside. Might have been better if I was warned but it was fine. Please take a pair of sunglasses with you.
I am happy the medical care I received. But I think it could be slightly better, just minor improvements (-.5 star). Their office policy and forms should be more transparent...
Read moreI went to SightMD on the recommendation of my family doctor and was extremely satisfied at everything they did.
Not only were they very professional, polite, and efficient, but they made sure to confirm each appointment and set up a regimen as to when to take eye drops and also return for follow up check-ups.
The surgeon I had, Dr. Sforza, was excellent. He explained everything, answered any questions I had, took the time necessary to make sure that I was comfortable and understood the procedure and all the follow-up appointments. He even made sure to call me each night of the day of surgeries. I had both eyes operated on for cataract removal. He genuinely cares about his patients and it shows.
I would recommend them to everyone who is looking for a professional, well-organized, safe, and effective operation. They handle everything with attention to detail and care for the patient.
After both operations, my eyes are in great shape and I have a follow-up in 6 months to see if there's anything else I need. They are truly very good at what they do and I recommend them highly with no...
Read moreI absolutely love Dr. Sporza. His commitment and compassion are truly remarkable . While many great doctors are professional, they sometimes lack empathy and fail to go the extra mile. Dr. Sporza consistently goes above and beyond in his service.
For example, I urgently needed my prescription. I left a message on their customer service line, and to my amazement, Dr. Sporza himself called me back. I was truly speechless.
I highly recommend Dr. Sporza to anyone seeking a caring and dedicated eye doctor.
Dr. Sporza of Sight MD has been our family's trusted eye doctor for many years. His expertise and professionalism are commendable.
Recently, however, we've experienced some challenges with the office staff. It can be frustrating when leaving messages regarding prescription use, as there's uncertainty about whether they're being received. We hope to see improvements in communication and responsiveness in the future. As of this review, am waiting for a response from the office for another follow up question.
Update: Staff person...
