Update: I hate to take a away my 5 star review because their Chinese food is excellent(which is the only reason that I am giving 2 stars, not 1 as this experience deserves!), but there are some things that I just cannot ignore. I recently ordered delivery and ridiculous issues. I ordered my usual food, Shrimp Lo Mein and Chicken with Broccoli. Now that they offer sushi, I decided to try it. Every place I go, I order California and Kani/Crab Stick roll. Because the Crab Stick Roll comes a la carte, I ordered 2. First when I attempted to put a $2 tip on the credit card. the guy said "$3 minimum". I said that that was crazy and ridiculous. He said nevermind but, when the food arrived, he filled in the tip to FOUR dollars!!! What the hell?!?! Tipping is voluntary! And it is at the discretion of the customer. He also first he changed one of my Crab Stick Roll from the a la carte to a classic Spicy Crabmeat roll WITHOUT telling me. I don't like spice so when I say this to the delivery guy, he says "Let me make a call." He calls the restaurant and after much confusion(the delivery guy got on the phone and they spoke in native language) he said that they don't have Crab Stick Roll(they why the hell is it on your menu?!) so he did the Spicy Crabmeat without the spicy cream. If I had know that it was a now a Classic Roll and not an a la carte roll, I wouldn't have ordered 2! When I order delivery, I will total up what I am ordering so I have an idea of what the total is going to be. When I asked for the total and it was about $10 more than what I was expecting, I questioned the total he jumped off the phone and I figured that he just had entered for 2 of something that I ordered. It wasn't until I checked the bill upon delivery that I saw what he had done. The California Roll was the weirdest that I have ever had. Every other time I have ordered one(at other places) it has crab stick, avocado, wasabi. This was was just crab stick with celery. It was so bad that I ate 1 piece and threw the rest out. I will be avoiding delivery from them for now on!
I had to find a new Chinese restaurant after the one that I had been going to closed. I was a little apprehensive, but was pleasantly surprised. I got the shrimp Lo Mein which was the best I had ever had. The onions and scallions added flavor to the dish instead of overpowering it(plus the shrimp was the same price as the other Lo Meins). The Chicken and Broccoli was what I would...
Read moreTried Jian Restaurant for first time on Feb. 9 2018. I ordered two chef speciality dishes, Phoenix and Dragon, and Mongolian Beef. Disappointed. Too much sauce and not enough meat/shrimp. The shrimp were also not fresh, they were past their prime. Why is it that I can buy and serve fresher shrimp at home than I can get at a restaurant? The price was about $47.00 which included Pork Dumplings which were good, and a container of Roast Pork Fried Rice. I expected the specialty dishes to be delicious for the price, but they were just ok. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend the restaurant, as it is just another ho-hum Chinese fast food...
Read moreGood. Conveniently located near Petco & asian mart. I've looking for a good General Tao's chicken for a long time. No other place make it spicy enough even when you ask. This place did! I love that the broccoli was blanched separately not fried or blanched in the wok, which makes it taste like metal. The bottom of the order was not greasy. They know what they're doing. The chicken was fresh, not frozen with a thick batter from the freezer. The brown rice was good. The hot & sour soup was loaded with tofu, also nice & filling. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu. Hope to make this a...
