If I could give a BIG FAT ZERO, I would. I came here to get sandwiches as I had a good experience at the Bayside location. Had some out of towners who wanted sandwiches and decided to call and order ahead. I honestly was not aware there was another location aside from Bayside. So used the GPS to get me to "Slims". I called to see if I could order ahead, but was told no. This was on a Sunday, and they were closing in about 15 min. I was told if I made it before 3, I could place an order. I understand it’s the end of the day, but a sandwich place that does not have the necessary items to quickly create a sandwich IS INSANE.
I made it before 3 with minutes to spare. I was looking forward to the yummy sandwiches from the past and was thankful that there is another location. HA!
2 females behind the counter who were totally obnoxious, one stared me down, like she could kill me, the other told me just about no to everything I ordered. Gave me sandwiches and when I got to the car, we opened our sandwiches and NOTHING that I had asked for was done. Toasted/Ham/Swiss/Mayo/Onions. These are not complicated orders, we had to settle for ham and swiss because they were out of everything I asked.
Went back and I asked what happened and they went off showed their rude and impolite ways. I got my money back. This location should be shut down. The service is horrendous! Has Slim's changed workers or even management? Because I had a phenomenal experience on my first and what seems to be...
Read moreSince 1932? How's that possible? Service should be top notch after almost a century! You would think a place literally called "Slims Hot Bagels" would actually serve hot bagels, all day. Not at all. The bagel was actually colder than the lady at the counter serving it to my daughter, with no smile or any sign of kindness, whatsoever. She actually told us that they turn the toaster off at 3pm, which is absolutely unheard of, especiallyat a place laughably boasting about hot bagels. Even cornerstore delis keep their grill and toasters running all day. That's not even the kicker, though. It was only 2pm (not 3pm turn off the toaster hour).... and the dump is called HOT BAGELS😂. That's like naming a place Toys R US, only to walk in and find library books and toothpicks. Never again! I wouldn't recommend this place either. Paid over $3 for a cold bagel with cream cheese and a large side of poor customer service. This is NYC. Plenty of other better options, where you also feel welcomed. Remember, you need the customer. We don't need you! Take notes.... and at least, flash a friendly smile if it...
Read moreAustere accoutrements, not meant as a place you enjoy your bagel and coffee, but to be served and take-out. Most of the bagels I've had hear are supurb. I found the amount of cream cheese allocated quite satisfactory, l always seem to drip quite a bit out. Service is slow due to staff size and the complex orders in front of you on what seems always to be a long line. Be sure they get your order right. I am often, as today, disappointed in their error after I have left. The coffee is good, and the staff jovial, friendly and playful. Quite the assortment of bagels, bialys and flats plus sweeter options. A dozen bagel is just...
