I grew up as a member of St. Philip Neri's parish until my family relocated to Throggs Neck. In those days (1990's), we had a dynamic pastor who was very involved in the elementary school and he knew the parishoners on a first-name basis. This is no longer this case for St. Philip's, but one can certainly find that community of faith and learning at St. Benedict's! Fr. Norton and Fr. Although this is a beautiful church in a beautiful neighborhood, I don’t know what happened to the priest in this parish as he is heartless with no empathy in his heart what a shame it is when you are unable to to get guidance or even understanding from the one place you look to when your are grieving. To not be allowed to speak and be pushed aside without a thought being told find another place....

This church is incredibly welcoming and has very convenient mass times. With old- fashioned authetic candles, the feel of a cathedral is present. Penance schedules are also flexible and their church associated groups provide a sense of community. Definitely a great place to visit and an amazing parish...
