Writing to express my profound disappointment with the service my group of five friends and I experienced during our recent visit on March 7 2025. As avid foodies who had been eagerly anticipating the opening of your establishment, we were let down in the most unfortunate way.

From the moment we walked in, the server's demeanor seemed annoyed and unwelcoming, setting an unpleasant tone for the rest of our visit. When we inquired about the drink menu, the server's smirk and blunt response that they were not serving any drinks that day was particularly disappointing, given the prominent display of alcohol and signage encouraging patrons to enjoy beverages.

Despite our disappointment, we were still eager to explore the food menu and place our orders. However, the server's rude behavior continued, as she rushed us to order and proceeded to snatch the menu out of the hands of one of my friends who was still reviewing his options. The way she handled this situation, placing the menu back on the table with a condescending comment,” I’ll leave one in case anyone wasn’t done” left us feeling disrespected and uncomfortable.

The server's attitude made it clear that she did not want to serve us, and I even considered canceling our orders altogether. However, we decided to give the food a chance, hoping it would make up for the poor service. While the dishes were acceptable, the sour taste left by the service made it nearly impossible for me to enjoy the meal.

Ultimately, we decided to leave and finish our evening at La Masa, a restaurant across the street, where we were welcomed and treated with the respect and hospitality we had anticipated at your establishment.

I am sharing this feedback in the hopes that it will help improve the service experience for future customers. As a group of eager and loyal diners, we were incredibly disappointed that our first visit was marred by such poor service. I truly hope that you will address this issue and ensure that your staff provides a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all who choose to dine at...

Updated: April 8, 2025. My son and I decided to give the restaurant another chance to taste their food. To our surprise the service and the food was mediocre. I had the $2 dollar tacos Tuesday Birria. The tacos were not that great at all and soggy. The shredded meat was not tasted, added extra cheese which paid .50 cents extra and tacos had very little cheese. We also order Elote which had no taste to it. We then order Nacho pollo asado, thinking that it would be like most Mexican restaurant’s nachos, we were completely disappointed when it arrived, it was more of a salad nacho than an original Mexican nachos. See pictures below. Will not be returning.

March 25,2025: My son and I arrived at this New Mexican Restaurant. We were not greeted but I asked can I sit anywhere and said yes. I had to asked for the menu when I sat and asked for utensils when food arrived. The young fellow who is part of the business did apologize for not having enough staff but were in the process to hire. The service and the food were great. I had the steak quesadilla and my son had the birria tacos. The food was prepared fast and we did not wait long. This is a new Mexican Restaurant in the Bronx and is family owned. Let us support this family business. Will definitely return to try their other dishes. The waitresses need to be more attentive and friendly, as a business owner it is imperative that service and friendliness be top priority to enhance the business and to ask customers if food and services is good and any suggestions for...

We wanted to try a new spot and when I found this one I was excited because of the rating it had. But we were so disappointed. We were seated by the window right under the A/C. Glad I had taken a jacket. Waiter comes and introduces himself very quietly, but doesn’t ask if it’s our first time there and when we had questions about the menu they were answered quickly and didn’t make it sound appetizing. Took a while for cocktails to come and my tamarindo mojito tasted nothing like I expected. There were three of us and only one plate came out. We had to tell him to start eating because it was getting cold under the a/c. The other two entrees came 15 mins later. My birria tacos were soft instead of a little crispy and the consomĂ© had no color and it was watery. They forgot my side of yellow rice and when they brought it I was surprised to see small grain rice like couscous with little bits of pegĂĄo. Everything tasted bland. They also forgot the guacamole I ordered but I didn’t have the strength to ask for it. I noticed people coming in and asking to sit in the back which we didn’t know there was another area since the hostess didn’t mention it. There were people standing against the wall for half hour looking at people eating waiting for takeout. They should remove the two small tables there and place a bench for those waiting. Only things I liked was the mural on the...

I’m a huge fan of Colima and had to visit their new location on Bruckner. Delicious food as always. Service was a little slow but everyone was friendly. I always get the chipotle esquites and quesotacos, this time I did the steak 😋

My sister asked what I was doing today and said, “Let’s go to that new Mexican spot!” I’m always in the mood for Mexican food—especially on Taco Tuesday—so I was all in. At Colima Taqueria (Bruckner location), I ordered guacamole with chips, birria tacos, and corn on the cob. The guacamole was smooth and flavorful, with just the right amount of zest from the lime. The chips? Perfectly crunchy, ideal for scooping up that creamy guac. Next came the birria tacos—three of them—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. A squeeze of lime and a bite of radish on the side made them even better. Hands down, the best birria tacos in the Bronx! I savored every bite. The corn on the cob was delicious—seasoned just right and surprisingly easy to eat without making a mess. And, of course, I had to make it official with a passionfruit margarita on the rocks. It wasn’t one of those overly sweet, artificial syrups; it was fresh, juicy, and gave me just the right buzz! Oh, and I swear I could taste a little sofrito in the flavors—maybe it’s just my Bennie-born Puerto Rican instincts kicking in! To top it all off, Denise, our waitress, was amazing—always smiling, full of energy, and made the experience even better. I will definitely be back! Sy
