I run a 30yr old + business and we have gone to this Home Depot for as long as I can remember. Today was an absolutely miserable experience at this Home Depot, I usually don’t write bad reviews but you guys REALLY EARNED THIS ONE. I came in for $400 worth of lumber. No big deal. Maybe the “smaller” orders of my business we have. Home Depot cards and pro and all the bull you guys sell. Today being a pro meant NOTHING. Being a loyal customer to this specific location mean NOTHJNG. I was shopping for presswood and I needed 10 sheets. There were 6 on the second tier shelves and I emptied them and the fourth tier shelving above had a full skid of what I needed to complete my order. I went by self checkout and asked the lady to page someone to assist me, she instantly did and I am thankful BUT as you’d expect from a disastrous Home Depot location, I waited and waited… and…. Waited. Mind you I was on the clock for my own work and need to meet deadlines. So I returned and she paged someone once again.. surprise! I waited another 5 minutes till walked to find the nearest associate in electrical (the other side of the store) he also paged for me assistance in lumber.. no one arrived after waiting some more.. absolute worst experience ever. I finally made my way to customer service and asked them for some help. They paged someone and the lady said “the guys who operates the fork lift leaves at 3”. It was 3:30 and my time had been wasted and the run around was frustrating. At this point my ONLY HOPE was to help myself. I climbed up and got the pieces in the safest manner possible which was rather dangerous.. HIGHER MORE STAFF, CLEAN YOUR STORE, STAFF SHOULD KNOW WHATS GOING ON. Staff was outside smoking weed, how unprofessional. SOMEONE HELP THIS STORE OUT!!! I’ll try adding a pic so you see how far I climbed up.. DISGUSTING.. will not refer my friends to this location!! I’m not 15 or 20 years old to be climbing like a monkey to buy things. SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL…
Receipt asks “did we nail it?”...
Read moreOn August 14 around 5:20pm there was a Spanish home depot employee blocking the self checkout line and acted as cashier. She started ringing my things up and then stopped and said,"you took an item here with no barcode". I told her that none of them were barcoded because it was being sold out of the box. I showed a photo of the item along with the barcode. She rudely said, "I cannot accept barcodes from customers, you need to step aside and wait for someone to come verify the item." At that point that line behind me became 20 people long. Being kicked aside, I went to the official cashier and before it came my turn, that Spanish lady left her position just to tell the cashier not to ring me up. She had so much time on her hand and was able to leave her spot while there was a huge line she could have verified the price of the item herself. I requested for the manager the cashier was refusing and then another Spanish lady by the door munching on sunflower seeds said to the cashier that he needs to get manager out because I need to be removed for making a scene and the cashier should move on to the next customer. Service here has definitely fallen downward, I've been going to this home depot since they opened and have not been humiliated like this. Being disrespected simply for being Asian is wrong. I showed the cashier the barcode and he said, "we don't sell netted tiles separately it's by the box." I said, "I'd gladly pay you $7.99 for the whole box." The manager showed up. Verified the barcode and price and I was on my way. The first Spanish lady said,"her name was Doris, but I don't know if that's true home depot would have to look up the time cards. She and that lady at the door need to be trained in manners or be fired. My friends have been telling me that the home depot in lic. Is better, might be switching soon. Hopefully that helps you avoid this time...
Read moreThis store really needs to get better control of its employees.
I’m looking for air condition filters on the end cap of aisle 27 where they should be per Home Depot app and there’s two employees sitting there having a personal conversation, ignoring me so I sat there patiently waiting until one acknowledged me
I asked where the air condition filters are, and they direct me all the way to the other side of the store into gardening, I question them, wouldn’t it be right here in plumbing and HVAC?
They said no, all the air conditioning stuff is together and it’s out there. I reluctantly search for 10 minutes where they directed me and no filters to be found.
I come back and not to my surprise, the filters are literally right behind them. I confront them about their miss direction and they go on to say that I asked for the wrong thing, but if they took the time to maybe not have an in-depth conversation they would’ve heard me say isn’t it in the HVAC section And maybe lightbulbs would have lit in their heads.
Anyway, you’d think my negative interactions are over, but alas, they were not, I go to exit the store after paying at the self check out and the door is barricaded to exit, there’s a guy standing in front of the door and I ask him hey how do I get out of the store, he says don’t you see the door is closed, go back to where you came from after watching me look around to find a way to get out of the maze they created with stanchions basically locking you into that self check out area.
I get it. The door may be broken, but how about making it possible for somebody to get out of there and not being rude when you poorly got them stuck there.
I’ve been to my share of Home Depot‘s and I live in New York City and I don’t expect top-notch Customer Service, but this was...
