Two days of my stay were on points and the other two I paid for. I’ve come to notice that whenever you use points these hotels find the worst rooms to give you. And it’s not like these hotels rooms are free. I’m obviously paid in order to get points. The first thing I was not impressed with is that the carpets were stained throughout the room, one of the beds mattress frames was sticking out, and my wife and I were both hurt as we walked by it and had to remember not to walk too close to it . I tried pushing the box frame back underneath the way it was supposed to be but it required tools. The other thing was on one of the power outlets. There was a piece of metal sticking out from the outlet and gave me a shock when I tried to plug in my laptop. I informed the hotel staff when they came to assist with fixing the TV and they said they would take care of it. No one ever came back every day. I would have to go down at least twice a day to have them reset my room key card. I think the final straw was when I checked out on 1/16/24 Tuesday morning. The time was 10:50am and the Shuttle Sign said that the shuttle leaves every half hour from 4 AM until 11:30 AM. When I let the Latin gal know I was checking out and needed a ride to the airport she asked me for my room number and it appears to me that there were some sort of notes on their screen because she looked at me and said the shuttle was done for the day. I said to her well the sign here says 1130 and it’s not even 11 yet? She went on to say that I was supposed to let them know the day before that I needed a ride to the airport, I let her know that I spoke with the desk clerk the day before, and he knew I was checking out I never said nothing like that to me. She said that she could call me a cab if I wanted. I asked her to credit me the cab fare since the reason why I stayed at this hotel was because of the shuttle service to and from the airport, and if they were not willing to do it, then I would appreciate the credit. She said she could not do that. At that point I took a picture of the hotel sign that showed the shuttle operating hours. Then all of a sudden after all of this back-and-forth, she says to me that she would check with the shuttle driver to see if he was willing to take me to the airport? She then rudely said to step back from the counter and wait for him to return from the airport. I couldn’t understand her statement because every hotel I’ve ever stayed at with shuttle service were always under the direction of the hotel front desk staff. Was she telling me that the shuttle driver was the person in charge? Was she saying that she took direction from the shuttle driver? Wow. During the time that I waited for the shuttle driver to return, another lady came down the elevator with four bags and stated she needed a ride to the airport. The front desk clerk never told her the shuttle was not running. Then my wife and son came down the elevator With their bags and my wife asked for shuttle-ride to the airport and the front desk clerk never told my wife that there was no shuttle running? when the shuttle driver finally got there, she looked up over the counter and announced that the shuttle driver was here to take people to the airport. I wondered why she singled me out and gave me such a hard time, was it because of my last name? was it because part of my trip was on points? Obviously, there were some sort of notes on the screen for my room number only at the hotel knows why. I will never stay at the hotel again and all I can say to anyone is beware; and hope that whoever the desk clerk is that they are in...

SHODDY BEHAVIOUR THEFT LIES: (disguised as concern& care ) C/S : Lies re-shuttle pick-up & collection points:I Initially called & spoke to female-who was unable to answer my question re-if the shuttle did a pickup at JFK.
I advised her BEFORE trying to book re-concern and queried if shuttle went to JFK -was given another number to call & check.
Then spoke to a male ( ELMA),who seemed like he was kind & helpful -however it appears he helped himself and the AVION INN to my money.
This guy -ELMA -asked all these questions but I insisted I wanted clarification of shuttle tour PRIOR TO BOOKING the room.
He said only x1 room left -he’d hold it while he spoke to front desk re-shuttle as shuttle was stopping at 1030pm & it was around 1040pm
When he found out shuttle won’t go to JFK .He said I should take Uber. Conversation ended by ELMA confirmed he had cancelled the room he held for me.
This am :04/10/23: Discover Fraudulent use of bank details to book a room that was supposedly never booked yet billed for.
My attempted Action to correct ?? Error led to … Endless rounds of conversations with staff/front desk /customer service -and being passed to at least x4 of the team to whom I repeatedly explained my disgusts& disappointment at behaviour that was representative of fraudulent behaviour and falsely obtained info whilst pretending it was for something else. C/S just kept ‘passing the buck’& wasting time repeating their questions-?? Was this strategy just to get me frustrated and leave conversation? C/S repeatedly putting me on hold AFTER I had advised of international costly call.
Effect & Result for me: nowhere to sleep disappointed and frustrated at their misleading behaviour. Embarrassed & angry that I was scammed -or fraud was perpetrated as my card was used without my consent. C/S falsely stating time of booking. Left out of pocket.-wasted time & increased international call bill. Stressed re-their behaviour which also affected my holiday. Disillusionment with the AVION INN & CHOICE as well. C/S Falsely stated card would not be used. AND THAT there was no booking. Staff -Hotel stating that- All calls are recorded for accuracy & safety-financial & otherwise for client but when I stated to use proof of no booking or providing of bank details -AVION appear to not have these telephone...
Read moreI stayed here for one night, before I flew out of LGA. Overall, it was a good stay.
There was a mixup on the price. I booked the senior rate online, and when I checked in, the rate seemed pretty high. I went up to my room, and pulled the app back up, and found a rate $50 less than what I had been charged. I went back down to the desk, and the clerk told me that the price had gone up since I booked the room. That didn't seem right, so I showed him the price online, and asked him to cancel my reservation and rebook me at the lower rate. He did, and I'm hoping it was just a mixup, and not an intentional bait and switch. Definitely check what you are paying.
The room and the bathroom were spotless, the TV got a lot of channels with a good picture, there is a fridge but no microwave. The Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream video. The bed was very comfortable, but there were only three pillows. Two were enough for me, I don't know if you could get more from the front desk or not.
Some people have complained about the noise from planes taking off and landing. I didn't hear anything my entire night. I don't know if they were taking off and landing in another direction, or if the hotel has very good soundproofing. That was not an issue for me.
The bathtub did not have a bathmat, so you have to be very careful. You activate the shower by pulling down on a little ring underneath the faucet. It took me a little while to figure it out when I took a shower right after I arrived, but once I figured it out, it was fine for my morning shower.
Breakfast was a grab and go, that consisted of an apple, a muffin, a granola bar, and a small bottle of apple juice. It was fine.
There is a free shuttle to the airport that runs in the morning, and then again in the evening/night time. However, the shuttle only holds about eight people. I would recommend getting outside early, so you don't miss a full shuttle, and have to wait another half hour.
