Planeview Park — Attraction in New York

Planeview Park is a nifty little greenspace that one could consider "off the beaten path" of sorts. The park's location gives visitors a nice view of LaGuardia Airport's runways where on a given day, you can sit and watch numerous flights take off and land. The planes do not fly very close over you but you do have a good enough view to details.

Also, planes do but fly over this park every day so your mileage may vary when visiting. I would use a flight tracker to determine the flight pattern to be sure you'll see something if making a trip there.

There are benches around the park where you can sit and a large grass area to play or lounge. The only bad thing is that it's located a bit out of the way. Just like the name of the park implies: you can watch commercial jets take off and land on LaGuardia’s runway. The park is a narrow strip of grass with benches and a minimalist playing field. The park is adjacent to the Grand Central Parkway. When planes use the runway perpendicular to Bowery Bay it’s a much better view. However, the runway parallel to the bay is not used as often because apparently it’s a harder strip to land on. The Q33 and Q48 buses stop right at the entrance to this park.
