CLUTCH that it’s walking distance from my BK apt, but certainly not the best Home Depot I’ve ever been to, tougher than life to find a cart… Speaking of, I purchased the most wonderful shopping cart (after inquiring on the street of a man I saw pushing one on my block who told me “50 bucks at Home Depot. Get you one!”) along with several other cumbersome items. Before I purchased I asked a brother in HD orange, “if I buy this is there a place here, I can get it assembled?” Noticing the back tires were unattached in the packaging. “Assembled??” replied the brother/ “Put it together” / “Yes, just go to service for them to ‘assemble’ but you gotta buy it first”. So that’s what I did and when I got to customers service (with my receipt) I was informed that was NOT a guaranteed condition, the one guy that usually does do them 1-2-3 wasn’t in on a Saturday, and now I’m kind’ve in a jam because I don’t drive, and I bought all this stuff I was envisioning pushing back home in my state of the art, new cart. One gentleman felt my pain, NOEL at customers service. He asked “why would they tell you that ?” To which I admitted “he saw the look in my eyes that I wasn’t buying this thing unless I knew I could roll it out of here!” We shared a laugh and Noel told me that as long as the instructions are in there I got you… 6 minutes later I had a standing, 4 wheeled - rolling, me not having to call a Lyft looking crazy trying to get upstairs to my place, 3xHercules strong cart. Without cash on me to tip, I kicked it new school “Say bruv, what’s your Venmo?”…. Noel said “Just write a review” I felt bad I just spent all my pocket money on art supplies around the corner before coming to Home Depot but shout out to Noel and even the guy who was only doing his job by getting that sale and sending me to Customer Service. So resourceful to have in walking distance (as long as I’m not carrying garbage bag boxes, and tape, paint, 15 paper towels and an unassembled cart) on Willoughby Ave! 5 stars for coming to my rescue.

The absolute worst experience of buying an expensive appliance in my life. A brand new washing machine is shaking so hard and is making so much noise it seems that it can explode. A Home Depot technician comes in to take a look, concludes that the washing machine INSTALLED BY HOME DEPOT PEOPLE wasn’t properly installed and is, in fact, all around damaged. I call Home Depot again to place an order for replacement, but I am informed that I do not qualify for a replacement because more than 48 hours has passed. I am transferred over to GE. GE technician comes in, concludes that a pedestal sold to me by Home Depot as a match to my washing machine isn’t meant for my washing machine (even though it is also GE, and is of the same colour and material) and was sold to me by a Home Depot salesman who insisted they belong together. I spend hours and hours on the phone being transferred over and over and over. No one at Home Depot or GE seems to care about customer satisfaction or even have a friendly attitude. They delivered me damaged products TWICE, wasted my time having to take time off work to accommodate 2 technicians coming over without any result. I have a broken brand new machine and no solution. Do yourselves a favour and never buy GE, never buy from Home Depot either! These are scammers.

In July of 2024.. I am extremely disappointed of the customer service I received at this Home Depot in Brooklyn New York in Nostrand Ave. Managers Rodney, Cumberbatch, Yimy and cashier Sophia. I’m sure them and others are a part of this scam. I went to this Home Depot to purchase two gift cards and paper towels. I went to the register with multiple visa gift cards because I was concerned that the backs of these gift cards were torn open already however, the cashier Sophia told me that it’s fine and asked how much would I like to put on the cards?.. I told her the amount and she handed me back two cards. A little skeptical by the way she handed me the cards. I asked her are you sure these are the two cards you put the money because she was still holding all the gifts cards as she scanned them. She said yes and showed me my receipt saying yes and this is the amount on them. I didn’t second-guess her and I left the store with my two gift cards and paper towels. A couple of days when both gift cards were being used one of them didn’t work. I immediately went back to the Home Depot, upset with myself because I knew in my gut something was off when I originally purchased them. I went to the customer service stand, explain to them what happened and noticed that the gift cards stand wasn’t in the same place. It had been moved. I insisted on walking over with the manager Rodney and he told me no I can wait there at the Customer Service stand and he would check the cameras as well. He came back to say that he doesn’t see a gift card on the stand that matches the numbers on my receipt and that in the video footage he can’t really tell what has happened other than the cashier Sophia was holding multiple gift cards. And this was the beginning of runaround with no intent on making it right. Rodney said he will speak to another manager about the situation he stated that I will be giving my money back, but he wasn’t sure of the form it will be sent to me whether it would be reimbursed on my Home Depot card or sent has a check in the mail. He took my name address and phone number. He also gave me his contact information to follow up. After weeks of calling the store and being told that the manager isn’t there then on vacation, I finally called Home Depot corporate told them the story made a complaint and till now no email, call .. not even a letter in regards to my complaint. I paid for two gift cards and only received one with the correct amount on it. The second card I was handed was never activated. The correct second gift card was left in the hands of the cashier name Sophia. This is robbery. The right thing to do is to reimburse me for what I paid for and...

I have come to the realization that I'm just going through the stages of grief with this Home Depot; sadness, depression, anger, and finally resignation. Resignation to the fact that you will never get what you need or want here, you will never get someone to help you here, so you might as well give up and go home defeated and accept that you live in Brooklyn so this project that you already bought all the other pieces for will never get done because you've spent your entire Sunday sitting in an aisle at Home Depot waiting for someone to come by with a forklift who never came. I've been stood-up by more Bed-Stuy Home Depot Employees than by Tinder dates.

Oh, you just came here for some paint? Too bad, you'll end up with the wrong paint finish, the wrong paint type, the wrong color, and it'll be chunky. Enjoy your matte orange walls in Behr Premium Plus. Oh, you just came here for potting soil? Too bad, you might as well go dig up dirt from the park. It says its in stock but its definitely not and will never be again. Oh, you just came here to pick up your ship-to-store purchase? Too bad. They lost it, and when they finally do find it two weeks later and you make the treck back to this store, you find the item you ordered is broken, and the other two items you ordered aren't even there. Oh, you just need to return something? Too bad. The clerk at the returns desk takes one look at you, says you're giving her a bad energy and refuses to help you. That item you are trying to return is yours forever now.

I dont know who manages this place, but it is truly the Home Depot from Hell (or HDH, as I lovingly refer to it). This Home Depot only stays in business because the Lowes and the Home Depot in Gowanus are nearly impossible to get to on public transit.

Naturally, I have encountered some kind, thoughtful, and helpful employees here - but even their ability and willingness to help is eventually suffocated by the deep seeded dysfunction of this store.

Good luck here, you'll probably end up at HDH even though you know deep in your belly its the worst possible thing you could do. But maybe you just like to torture yourself, or maybe you're naively hopeful that "this time it will be different!", or maybe you just need a dang paint brush and you refuse to pay $40 for an Uber to take you to Gowanus to buy a...

Title: Worst Experience Ever – Rude Staff, Terrible Service, and a Complete Waste of Money

I cannot begin to express how utterly disappointed and furious I am with the entire experience of purchasing and attempting to have this washing machine delivered and installed. From start to finish, it was an absolute nightmare.

First, let’s talk about Margo, the customer service representative we had the misfortune of dealing with. Not only was she unhelpful, but she was downright insulting to my wife. When my wife politely asked a question about the delivery process, Margo responded with a condescending tone and said, “Maybe you should’ve read the terms before buying something you clearly don’t understand.” Excuse me? Is this how you treat paying customers? My wife was left feeling humiliated, and I was livid. Margo’s attitude was completely unacceptable, and she should not be working in any customer-facing role.

Then came the delivery team. We paid a significant amount of money for this high-end washing machine, expecting a professional installation service. Instead, the delivery team showed up late, refused to listen to our concerns, and outright refused to install the machine. They claimed it wasn’t part of their job, despite the fact that we were explicitly told installation was included. When we tried to compromise and find a solution, they shrugged it off, left the machine in the middle of our laundry room, and walked out.

Now we’re stuck with an expensive, heavy machine that we can’t even use because no one will install it. To make matters worse, the company has been completely unresponsive to our complaints. We’ve called multiple times, only to be put on hold for hours or told someone will “get back to us” (spoiler: they never do).

This entire experience has been a complete disaster. The disrespect from Margo, the incompetence of the delivery team, and the lack of accountability from the company have left us feeling completely ripped off. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs. I regret ever giving them my business.

0/10 – Would not recommend to my...
