Have usually had positive experiences here, but not this weekend. This weekend I was accused of lying and refused an advertised sales price by one of the rudest employees I have some across. This, of course, goes against NYC gov rules on advertised sales prices.
I noticed the displayed 30% off discount did not come off when checking out my items. I had also heard the sake advertised over the loudspeaker for the exact brand whose products I was purchasing. I asked the cashier about it and she said the sale had ended yesterday. I said that the sale price was still up and I heard an announcement made over the loudspeaker, at which point she looked over at her supervisor who came over and promptly and curtly said that they would not honor the price. I told her I heard an announcement made over the loudspeaker and she said that no such announcement had been made on that day. Not sure how she thinks I would know that such an announcement was being made if I had not heard it with my own ears. I told her that, yes it was made, and she once again insisted that I didn’t hear it because it wasn’t announced which was a total lie on her behalf. I, once again, said the sale price is still on the shelf and she said it says the sale ended yesterday (I did not see that, as all I saw was the 30% on the sign). I asked why they would leave a sign up that says 30% off if it’s no longer on sale and and all she said was that she would not honor the price. This employee was rude off the bat, came over with a sour face on immediately. If she har at least acknowledged that the sales price shouldn’t be up there anymore and hadn’t accused me of lying about what I heard over the loudspeaker, I might have just let this one go. However, none of your customers deserve to be treated in such a manner while trying to make purchases at your store. Maybe you have a way of listening to the recordings made throughout the day- go ahead and play it and you’ll see that the sale announcement was played on Sunday 11/5. I did call customer service and spoke to a lovely person there. However, still no callback from...
Read moreI usually love Ulta and have never had an issue, but this experience was honestly beyond disappointing. I came to ultra after my new born’s appointment to purchase much needed products and to claim my birthday gift, which is a small gesture Ulta offers to reward loyalty—and my birthday was literally last week at the end of June. I am 3 months postpartum, so time, energy, and errands are not taken lightly right now. I made the trip specifically to treat myself, and instead was met with attitude, policy policing, and zero empathy.
Valerie, the manager who “assisted” me, was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of hearing me out or showing even a drop of compassion, she immediately started quoting policy like a robot and made me feel like I was trying to scam a $5 sample-sized product. She was”enforcing policies.” I explained I didn’t have time to come sooner due to my situation (again, 3 months postpartum, not just being lazy), and she was still cold and dismissive. There was no apology, no effort to de-escalate, no kindness—just condescension and policy reciting.
I didn’t expect the red carpet rolled out, but I also didn’t expect to be treated poorly and disrespected over a birthday gift that’s meant to show appreciation for customers. Ulta, if you’re going to offer a birthday program, please train your staff on how to handle it with compassion. Especially when people are coming in with grace and valid reasons for delays. Postpartum is one of the most difficult things a woman can experience and majority of your consumers are women.
I left without my gift, without any support, and honestly without the desire to return to this location. This could’ve been such a simple “we got you, happy birthday” moment—but instead it was cold, unsympathetic , and felt incredibly...
Read moreThis ulta is the closest to me but I typically wait till I’m in Jersey or SI to go to Ulta. This one is not stocked the best for popular items. Very dusty and it takes a while to get an associate to help because they’re usually helping with queue which I can understand but it’s frustrating to sit and wait. They seem understaffed most days. and for whatever reason it’s usually an uncomfortable temperature in there like stuffy feeling. Positives are, the associates are kind when you can get one and they do have good travel size options in the summer.
Secondly, the cost of the lot has become a major issue for me. I’m not sure what has happened over the past year but the price increase for parking has become insane. I’m referring to the outdoor lot closest to Ulta. That’s the only area I park in. I’ve been going to atlas for almost 6 years, I never recall paying over $5 for parking.I'm usually there from 45min to two hours the most. Today I was there for an hour and paid $10. That’s completely ridiculous, Ny street parking isn’t even that much. Last month I was there for a similar timeframe and it was $7. Which I still found to be insane-for an outdoor lot. From a business stand point their stores should be upset by this, and advocating for cheaper fees. customers are very likely rushing and not wanting to stay long in the area and shop around due to those those parking prices. Revenue for the shops would likely increase if customers weren’t worried about avoiding outrageous parking fees. They are taking advantage of the customers.I’ll be shopping elsewhere moving forward, It’s not worth it. Imagine running to get one thing $ spending $30 at ulta then having to spend &10 for parking smh .I’ll be shopping elsewhere moving forward, It’s...
