My wife and I took an evening stroll and stopped by at Walfood. We were treated very rudely by a gentleman, who called himself Mr. Xu (?).
We bought a fish along with some other items. At the checkout, the cashier wasn't sure about the price tag on the fish, so asked Mr. Xu to double check. He came back with a new price tag, and the unit price was raised by threefold, from $1.49 to $4.99. I asked him to go with me to the seafod dept, but he said, not necessary, because "a whole fish can never be that cheap." He said so sarcasticaly and with a smirk. Even when we were walking to the seafood dept at my insistence, he repeated the same sentence, “a fish can never be this cheap."
Of course, it was this cheap. See the picture I uploaded.
The gentleman who weighed and printed the price tag for me politely confirmed the price. But Mr. Xu (again, I am not sure if this is the real name as he appeared to be very reluctent when I asked for his name), instead of being apologetic, said they were just double checking and not a big deal. I told him he should double check carefully the first time, otherwise there would be negative reviews.
Now, this is his proud answer, "I don't read and I don't care."
His words made sure that I must write...
Read moreA decently sized Chinese grocery store. The store's selling point is its convenience of location right on Bell Blvd. It's perfect if you need Chinese groceries live near by. The Long Island Railroad is also very close by, so commuters can drop in quickly to grab some groceries before walking home.
They have a small parking lot in the back and is usually at least 3/4 full half the time. So it can be difficult to find parking. Also, the street leading into the lot can be congested because it's relativity small and narrow. Big delivery trucks dropping off to the supermarket often block the road by double parking, leading to some complaints and angry honking in the area.
The grocery had a decent selection of groceries and the prices are really not so bad. Comparable to most other grocery stores. The staff has always been helpful to me when I shop. They have a live seafood section and turn over in their meat department products seems pretty fast, so you always have fresh food. Credit card...
Read moreThis happened 11/11 at around 3pm. This place accused me of stealing which is just seriously ridiculous. I walked into to buy some yogurt and as I was being checked out by the first cashier, a worker I assume, a man walked by and whispered in mandarin to the cashier to “make sure to check the bag” referring to the tote bag I was carrying. Then, the cashier proceeds to ask me to check my bag, as to which I show her the contents of my tote bag which was filled with my personal items.
When she realized there were no products in my bag, she proceeded to apologize. But at this point I was stunned with this kind of treatment. To be wrongfully accused as a customer it left me with a sour taste in my mouth. And as this is a new establishment, please teach your employees how to delegate these types of situations better. I don’t think I would ever come back here after this experience.
Businesses do not thrive with this kind of treatment to their...
