Washington Heights Library — Attraction in New York

After years of supporting this library & crowing about how great they are to anyone who asks, their service to the community was put to the test when they allowed me to be verbally attacled by a paranoid/psychotic/delusional drunk. I asked the unfortunately bewigged/alcoholic "security guard" (a woman who spend her time wandering around the building while not securing anything) for help removing him, but she was too busy attempting to bond w/him to do anyyhing much. She told me that she had spoken to the manager & that I should "wait 15 minutes". Desperation wears many faces. This one particularly unattractive. Don't waste your time trying to get any work done @ this disgusting branch. I'd like to shout out the one person who recognized me as a reasonable person & told the maniac to leave. This used to be my favorite place growing up in the neighborhood, but yesterday was disappointing. I always take an elevator because I’m disabled. I have Scoliosis and although I don’t use a cane or I’m on a wheelchair I am still granted elevator access because it’s hard for me to go up the stairs. The security told me and the person I was with that the elevator was for the elderly and disabled. We also had a minor with us and he’s my nephew I was not going to leave him alone. The person I was with told her, “she is disabled, she has Scoliosis.” The security then proceeded to look at me to see if it was true and said okay in a weird way. I luved that place, all we did was take the tour & there was books 4 days. Laughter is catchable also. I forgot 2 ask for the map because i got lost. Please take your meds before hand. Please have your food to prevent passing out. Now no matter where I went I found what I like. But then again i was wearing comfortable shoes & clothes, with no chaffing.
