Please be careful: * Do not use the Mercato.com delivery service that their website takes you to. They will take your money and absolutely not help you* I donāt usually write reviews, but after what I went through with Mercato, I feel like I need to share my experience to help others avoid the stress and frustration I endured. I recently used Mercato because Iām waiting for knee surgery, which means Iām in constant pain and have very limited mobility. With nobody home to help and no food in the house, I thought Mercato would be the answer. Unfortunately, it turned into an exhausting ordeal.
I made a simple mistake when entering my address. As soon as I noticed it, I contacted Mercato to provide the correct information, even giving them my phone number in case they needed to reach me. They confirmed theyād redeliver, and I thought everything would go smoothly from there. Instead, they delivered my groceries to the same wrong address again.
Thatās when things got complicated. I tried to reach Mercato through their live chat, but it was obvious I was getting ārehearsedā responses that didnāt address my situation. Eventually, I connected with a real customer service rep who mentioned they āshouldāve canceled the orderā due to the address issue, but nobody actually took steps to fix it. He promised a refund, which I thought would be the end of the issueābut when I checked later, no refund had been issued.
I called back to follow up, and the rep I reached that time was dismissive and even hung up on me while I was trying to get answers. They refused to connect me to a supervisor or anyone who could take responsibility. Every rep I spoke to seemed to lack the ability or training to actually resolve the problem, and the entire process felt disorganized and frustrating at every turn.
After several days of trying to get my money back, I had to go through my bank to dispute the $75 charge for groceries I never received. Meanwhile, I still had to push myself to the store the next day, with my injured knee, to buy the food I was counting on Mercato to deliver.
This experience taught me a hard lesson: always research a company before trusting them. When I looked them up afterward, I found numerous complaints online, including many with the Better Business Bureau. Their low rating is well-earned, and Iām honestly not surprised after going through this.
Mercato, if youāre reading this, please improve. Those of us who rely on delivery services due to physical limitations deserve to be treated with respect and empathy. No one should be left stranded and helpless because a service they trusted failed them.
C-Town supermarkets is only good for in-person shopping, but please do not use their online shopping website. They really need to change their carrier and not associate with such a terrible...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI know they seem "clean" and bright to newcomers since their renovation, but I've been in this neighborhood for two decades and have seen how bad they have been. The staff including the manager have been rude and disrespectful to my mother, the most recent time over a simple exchange where she brought her receipt. I guess badgering and talking down to a 70+ year old woman who still has a sharp mind but is slightly visually impaired helps you feel better about yourselves, right?
Since then, she has boycotted them and I can count on one hand how many times I've been there last year. I only bother because of their location, and that's the only thing they have going for them. Other supermarkets in the area and even out of the area treat you with 1000x more respect than these guys.
One time she purchased over $100+ worth of groceries before a hurricane and checked out with 15 minutes to spare before closing. We live two blocks away and she asked for the groceries to be put in a cart and wheeled to our apartment. They refused. BEFORE A HURRICANE. Thanks, guys.
Not to mention they block the train station every morning unloading their wares like they don't understand that people need that entrance to get to THEIR JOBS too, they're so greedy they won't give you cash back, their workers stock the shelves at all times of day and night and won't move out of the way so you can shop, they won't hire you if you're not Dominican and their meat section always smells "off". If I could give 1.5, I would again for location and selection ONLY, but they have awful customer service for...
