First off. I have NEVER felt so uncomfortable in a salon ever until here.
I came to this salon in a pinch as I had to fly out of the country the next day in December 2023. I booked a scalp treatment and cut/wash/blow dry as my scalp is dry and flakes easily. The person attending to me at the bowl was nice and used a comb to get everything out. While he was doing this, my stylist Ana comes the bowl and says "Is that my client?" She pulls put her phone and just takes a picture of my hair and then proceeds to walk away and what it seeks like show the other stylists. They all start laughing and one of them says something with niña in Spanish. I was already embarrassed of my situation and I felt even worse after coming here. Before this, she asked me if I spoke Spanish so I'm not sure if it was to talk to me in Spanish or about me in Spanish. Between the combing being too rough and Ana having the heat too high, my scalp ended up getting scabs and tight. When I got to the chair, I told Ana I wanted long layers with NO thinning/texturizing shears used because my hair is already dropping and thinning. I also told her I wanted an inch cut from my hair. She complained that my hair was "frizzy" which is the first time a stylist ever complained about my hair. She only used mousse in my hair and didnt use any heat protectant or smoothing ceram etc. She ended up cutting off way too much and used the shears anyways against my will. This made my hair extra short and thin. My hair was long when I came in and she was just too scissor happy and just did what she wanted. I was so embarrassed by this whole situation. I even told her that I asked her not to use them and she made an excuse as to why she was using them. I didn't want to create a scene and I just let her to do it to avoid a problem as it was my first time there. I would recommend any other stylist like one of the gentlemen working or the other woman working as they were way more friendly and the owner was really nice as well. I see that Ana has a lot of positive reviews so maybe it was just me but I would not ever...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked in, the staff was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. No greeting as if I was inconveniencing them by showing up for my scheduled appointment.
The stylist Yaffa came after 2 hours waiting and barely listened to what I wanted and acted annoyed when I asked questions about my hair. Instead of giving advice or showing any expertise she rushed through with a terrible attitude and started complaining how heavy my hair are and she is not able to handle my hair alone. when i requested that i only need her expertise to do my balayage she put me on wait again took another customer for hair cut and after approximately 30 min came back again and told me in her salon its a team work she has to move through person to person and her team members helping her to do the tasks as per her instructions like robots and then asked her team member to give me a price for balayage and that is about 600 for just balayage for shoulder length hair. To top it all off, her tone was extremely rude and upsetting when I politely voiced my concerns about the treatment and price they were dismissive telling me single balayage has so many steps each step cost a price also The lack of professionalism was shocking.
I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values customer service, skill, or basic courtesy. There are plenty of salons that actually care about their clients—this is not one of them. Avoid...
Read moreI’ve been going to Yaffa’s for about a year for my blowouts & scalp treatments, & and I finally decided to add color to my hair. Let me tell you, words don’t feel like enough to describe how much I love my new hair and overall experience at Yaffa’s.
Amanda did my balayage & I always tell her, God kissed her hands & I mean that with every fiber of my being. I walked in feeling more nervous than excited, & her energy was just so great she took away all my anxiety. Amanda is the sweetest & most caring stylist anyone could ask for. She took the time to explain all the steps/details to me, answer all of my questions, & ensure I was satisfied with the end result. There is no one I could trust more with my hair. She truly has a passion & talent for this.
The entire team at Yaffa’s is amazing. Isabel washes my hair each time with incredible care, Danny gives the best blowouts 10/10 always; everyone there is very kind & attentive. As soon as you walk in, you feel the positive energy & great vibes. The owners definitely do their part in creating such a great atmosphere to work and get serviced in. I walked out feeling like a whole new person, this confidence boost is dangerous lol. I will never look another way for my hair, they are the best...
