Zoo-Rama Pet Shop — Attraction in New York

It's been about 8 months now since I've had my gorgeous chihuahua Petunia. My experience in the store was a pleasant one, the owners were attentive to my questions and concerns. The store itself feels kind of crowded and stuffy though. They sent me home with instructions and a bag full of puppy necessities which was great. The only problem is that when I first got her, she had a persistent hacking cough that was really bad especially in the night. I brought it to the owners attention and he said to bring her for her free vet check up. I live in upstate New York so I didnt want to keep going back and forth as it is about a hour drive. I took her to my local vet and they prescribed her an antibiotic, which helped for a few days, but then her hacking came back full force. I tried using an air humidifier right next to her crate to help her breathing, I even switched to all natural scent free detergents to clean her bedding. Nothing was working, so my vet then prescribed doxycycline for dogs and she hasn't had the problem since. I will say that when you purchase a puppy from here, you will likely have some kennel cough issues with your puppy in the beginning, but a stronger antibiotic may do the trick as it did for mine. She is now healthy, happy and cough free! I love her so much and with the proper training and socialization, she is the most well behaved chihuahua I've ever known! I also wanted to mention that I purchased her for about $2000 during the pandemic, which is a way better deal than most of the other pet shops with their incredibly high "covid fees". DO NOT BUY HERE. I purchased my puppy on Feb 9th 2016, we purchased our three month Soft coated Wheaton terrier for 950. When we got to the pet store there were only female Wheaton terriers out for 1600 and we explained to the sales associate we were looking for a male. She went to the back and brought out our puppy and explained to us they had a special going on and he was only 950. We purchased him and took him home later that week when we brought him for his first check up and shots we found out he was sick with kennels cough. My dog is constantly coughing up flem, eye mucus and can't even run around do to his trouble breathing. after purchasing his medicine I went back to the pet store and explained to them my situation. The woman there told me if wanted to give the dog back for my money and if not they could keep him there for two days to treat him themselves I asked if any of them were vets they all said no. Then they had this machine in the shop to flush out my dogs lungs and told me they were going to give him medication after they used the machine on him. I refused the treatment because no one was a vet. They obviously dealt with kennel cough before because of the equipment and there were also two other dogs in the back room coughing. They tried to tell me kennel cough was common and was due to the weather changing. I just grabbed my dog and left. I've spent so much money to purchase my dog and to have him treated for this spending money on medication , X-rays , and exams .. Worst experience ever. I'm currently filing a suit against this...

Let me tell you hands down no denying it, you want a puppy this is the place you need and must go. The selection of puppies are insane . It’s almost impossible to make a decision on what kind of dog you would want unless you came already with a breed in mind.
