SaveSmart of Newark — Attraction in Newark

I used to enjoy coming to this place. I walked into this store one day with my mother and purchased almost $40 worth of bathroom supplies. As we were leaving the alarm went off and the man's that are always in the front ran up to us as we stole something. They than proceed to grab my mom purse and asked if they can go through it. Since we didn't have anything to hide, we agreed. But instead of taking us to a private setting, they proceed to do it right in front of everybody. They literally took everything out my mom bag especially her medication she had on her at the time. I was so embarrassed and told them; they need to stop. The older man looked at me as if he was disappointed. Never again!!! They should not be able to treat their customers that way. They literally need proper training when it comes to customer...

I recently visited Save Smart, and while they have a good selection of home goods, my experience was mixed. The store offers a variety of items that cater to different home needs, making it a convenient place for one-stop shopping.

However, my visit was somewhat uncomfortable due to the staff. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I was being stared at, which made me feel uneasy. Additionally, the store has a noticeable display of photos of individuals who have been caught stealing, which adds to the discomfort. To top it off, there's now a police officer on duty serving as their security.

I can see why they have a Newark Police officer stationed inside most days. I'm the last one to push the race card, unfortunately it's a issue at this store in regards to the way certain customers are treated. Most of the products are def overpriced for any area, especially Newark. The Indian lady that works the Lotto is a real problem, its clear to see what her problem is. I use to shop here because of how convenient it is to my house. Good luck with talking with management about a issue its futile. The only good thing about this place is the return policy is fair, hence the 2 star rating. i won't spend anymore money in there. Again i see why NP is posted inside, they are def aware of...
