Read moreI recently decided to try this restaurant after it had been open for a while, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet my expectations.
First, the lighting was far too bright, particularly outside, where it was almost blinding. Dimmer lighting would create a more inviting atmosphere. The fact that they sell dimmable bulbs makes this an easy fix.
Second, the menu was quite confusing, and communication with the staff was challenging, as many didn’t speak much English. While I can speak some Spanish, it was difficult to follow since they were primarily speaking Brazilian Portuguese.
Third, upon being seated, we were presented with two menus, one of which was for an "all you can eat" option. This was unexpected, as the restaurant didn't appear to be a buffet-style establishment. Additionally, we were informed that if we didn’t finish the food from the “all you can eat” menu, we would be charged a fee for any wasted food. While this policy might work in buffets, it felt out of place in a regular dining setting.
Fourth, if sushi is on the menu, it's essential to clearly list the ingredients. Almost all of the sushi contained cream cheese, which was not mentioned on the menu. This could pose a problem for customers with lactose intolerance or allergies.
Overall, for a restaurant in the Ironbound area, where the food is typically outstanding, this experience was disappointing. The sushi was particularly underwhelming—possibly the driest I've ever had—and I wouldn’t recommend adding this place...
Read moreThe food is delicious on good days. I can say it’s the best spot in Newark for Brazilian sushi and the waiters are nice and attentive. However this is not the first time I go there and the place is freezing. I had my two coats on. Very uncomfortable. Customers well being is not a priority. The sushi was so cold as if taken out of the freezer before serving. Lastly, They will still charge you the same and apply tip even if service isn’t up to par and regardless of party number. FYI (TIP= To Insure Prompt Service) meaning not an obligation.. instead they should change it to service fee since it’s automatically applied on every bill without informing the customer. At the end of it all they didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. So there are pros and cons like anywhere else. If you really love sushi and want to be in and out sure this place can work for you. But if you want this place to be a special date or something of the occasion. You might leave dissatisfied for the $$$ you will...
