This post office is as terrible as you could possibly imagine. It has the most horrible sadistic management ever. They don't wear uniforms or nametags either, so that you can't complain about them because you can't identify them. They sit around and watch as huge lines form and instead of helping at a window they tell everyone how understaffed they are and stand looking over the shoulders of the actual workers. I watched as the only person actually working through a line out the door begged for a break to use the bathroom, blow her nose, and have some water and wasn't allowed. Yet the manager was doing nothing and then actually left and went home for the day leaving the poor worker squirming in her seat having to wipe her nose on her sleeve. The postal delivery workers are always giving me the neighbors mail too, and also marking that they have delivered me packages which don't arrive until days later. Sometimes they never arrive. They also returned a package to me and marked it as the wrong weight. I went in and asked them to refund my preprint postage so I could buy new postage, and also to weigh the package to show me that it was wrong. Not only did they refuse to refund my international package postage costs, the manager refused to even weigh my package to verify if it really was the wrong weight for what I paid. When I got upset and asked what her name was she refused to tell me. When I tried to take her picture to show someone in authority over her, she actually ran away from me! She looked like she was all drugged up too. Many of the people that work there often do. All sleepy eyed like they are on heroine or something. I've tried to complain about this post office before and always just get passed around and my issues are never even addressed let alone resolved. I have started driving to the next city across state lines to drop off packages because I don't want to have to deal with the Newark post office. Horrible sadistic incompetent management. I'd give them negative...
Read moreI recently moved from a home to an apartment complex with separate mailboxes for each unit. I stopped by the post office one afternoon with the portion of my lease that that they ask for when doing the change of address. When I approached the postal attendant she proceeded to enter the information into their system. I was told that the new changes would go into effect within 5-10 days. I had to return again to get the keys to my mailbox. When I returned to get the keys they handed me an envelope for which I noticed the address of the main office of the apartment complex on the front. I didn’t give it much thought and left. When I returned home the first thing I did was try the keys (3 newly cut) and none of them worked. I tried them probably 6 times different ways. I started getting calls from the main office of the apartment complex telling me that my mailbox was full and the mailman couldn’t get any more mail in it. I explained that my keys wouldn’t open my box so they told me they would inform the post office by letter the issue with the keys and to have someone come out to change the lock. When I returned to the post office with the keys and the letter the attendant behind the counter was less then cooperative. She wouldn’t accept the letter or keys without seeing my lease. When I told her I already went that route and it was my third time there, she simply said sorry, without the lease there wasn’t anything she could do. I told her it was the lease that started the issue. She said I was the one who filled the change of address form. I told her that the person behind the counter took the information off the lease I handed her and entered it into their system. I didn’t fill any form out. Then I left. I’m sorry to say this but I have a lack of respect for people who service the public are not willing to work with them to resolve issues instead of making them worse. It’s been almost a month and I still can’t get...
Read moreLong story in short, one of the clark at this location is very rude, unprofessional, lier, and I believe she was the same person complained by other reviews about making up rules to cause inconvenience, and treat customers unequally. She has a brown to red hair with first name in tag starting with “E”. Try your best to avoid her, she made up rules to just made my life miserable, not for one time but for two times in a year. First time I asked for a receipt for dropping off a prepaid priority mail package she told me I can only toss the prepaid package to the bin at the end of counter and refused to issue me a receipt because the postage was not paid at the post office, and she yelled at other two customers behind me when I tried to talk to the other Clark. The second time I shipped international package and it was a priority mail. This time, she was picking that the postage I had was not directly paid to USPS so she decided herself that she would not allow me to use the self adhesive window sleeve (see photo, it is provided free of charge) that was designed to fit the custom clearance form and dispatch notes for international priority mail packages. She asked me to go to somewhere-else to buy it sounds like the office is her house and I was trying to rob her. I told her other Clarks at this location and all other USPS office provided that to me always and even I paid to 3rd party they finally paid USPS too but she declined my request. She lied about the rules but when she was away the other Clark silently handed me the window sleeve and helped me finishing the process. In both occasions I complained to the USPS immediately after the occasion but I really doubt if any discipline will...
