I went to see an IMAX film here on 4/12/25. Either the start time had changed or the incorrect time was printed on the advance-purchased ticket, so I was directed to go to the bar by the ticket taker since I was there too early to be seated. I inquired if the bar was open, as no one was behind it. I was assured that it was. After waiting patiently for quite a while, a guy with a broom and dust-bin showed up who refused me service (I’m 66 years old). I’d gone to the DMV for a Real ID and had the temporary paper replacement they issue until the hard copy arrives. This temporary ID is very legal, and had been accepted at other places, including theaters, without question.
When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told by the gentleman behind the counter that it wouldn’t change anything as he was the person who trained all bartenders and that he had lost 2 recently. I’m not exactly sure what the latter had to do with this situation, and I have to say that if the former is true, it’s an interesting managerial system they have there - this guy seemingly has more power than his boss.
So, I gave up. The reality is that if they don’t want to serve alcohol there – fine; then just remove the bar and don’t recommend that people patronize it. The ironic thing is that if they hadn’t changed the start time of the movie or had printed the correct time on the ticket, and the other staff member hadn’t suggested the bar, I wouldn’t have gone to it. I would have just gone in and taken my seat.
8 business days ago (12 actual days), I wrote to AMC to complain via their website, in the way they direct any complaints posted here, but never heard back. I received a confirming email stating that I’d get a response within 3 business day, but that never happened.
I’ve been a long-time customer with this location (20 years) and until now been accepting, without complaint, of this venue’s faults (the Dolby Cinema projectors being out of alignment so the movie looks like 3D without the glasses, sound bleeding over from the theater next door, ticket kiosks that are a difficult to manage, all of the LED read-out signs that should give the title/time of films showing in a particular theater being blank since you can’t trust what’s printed on your ticket, etc.), but this place is just a bad experience. It’s a shame because I genuinely enjoy seeing movies at a theater. My experience at my local independent theaters has been stellar, on the other hand, and I’ve noticed that they seem to sell out screenings or have an almost-full house, whereas this location tends to have mostly empty seats. I can see why,...
Read moreAbsolutely don't do it. Go somewhere else. Read the most recent reviews (December 2021). The staff are rude and don't know the meaning of customer service. I am an AMC Stubs member and so is my husband. We go to lots of AMC theatres that are lovely. My husband had a birthday free drink & popcorn, they'd just closed the tills (but no money was needed so this shouldn't have been an issue) and the big white guy with glasses at the concessions counter refused to give us the items. As our movie was yet to start, I went to speak with a manager, a small asian lady who tried to assist, but the big guy had ordered the rest of the staff to empty the very visible popcorn machine with plenty of popcorn in it, so we couldn't have it. Who does that?! If they needed the QR code or the voucher number they all have phones they could have taken a photo of it and inputted it the next day. The only reason it is getting one star is the actual manager tried to do something. But at this point where her staff was being rude, she should have made them make a new batch of popcorn. It wasn't just us, a young lady with a headscarf came out and asked for a refill (films were still running, we were just about to go into ours that hadn't started yet!) and the poor girl was told they didn't have any! FREE REFILLS means just that, it doesn't mean you get to switch everything off because you want to go home. One person would easily have been able to meet the needs of all/any customers. Having one person stay on later to make sure customers are all happy, would have avoided this review, because no services would have been closed before the last movies had even started. Some people don't eat before the movies, because they know they are getting popcorn and can't do both a meal and popcorn, this would have left anyone like that hungry and certainly the young lady with the headscarf was left hungry... what more can...
Read moreThis is the place I go to watch my movies with my brother and friend. They have popcorn laying out in either buckets or bags. So it's a guess if the popcorn is fresh or been standing out getting stale. Going to the counter will not get you any service unless you wave down the staff. They're mostly in the back making popcorn and cleaning(?). The soda machines are nice, any flavor or drink you can ever want, however expect to pay a fortune. For 1 regular sized drink and a small popcorn was $18. The place is barely maintained. The floors are usually sticky and the bathrooms have the hinges falling off the stalls. The door was broken on one of the handicap stalls at one point, and one of the regular stalls door doesn't stay closed as the door is missaligned. The movie experience is nice though. I just wish there was more handicap sections that allow a group to be together. Most of the time we have to go far left or right or sit apart. The bar is under utilized. I feel like it's mostly there for show. The drinks are really expensive and you would have to leave the movie to get more drinks. Since the bar is near the entrance, you would have to walk a good ways back to. I still don't understand the popcorn stands on the left and right wings. They're always vacant and look like they've never been used in years. It would be nice to have those working if we ever wanted refills or have those utilized for something better. I really missed when they use to have the ddr machine by the entrance. It was a nice extra to have when we're waiting for movies or to get in a game after a movie. Overall, this place is stuck in the past. It hasn't been modernized in quite some time. It's running on...
