After quite the struggle by the owners, with the licensing board, the fine wines and spirits shop is back in business. It is literally an intoxicating place to browse. The only place in town which I will purchase alcoholic beverages, the selection is better than any place in the county that I have been to. I am not much of an imbiber but I couldn't pass up the chance to try a small batch organic Irish hard cider. 4.5% abv. with a dry finish and complexly layered apple varietal flavors, a lot more satisfying than the Woodchuck ciders I grew up sipping as a youngster. Imports are a rare indulgence for me with their larger carbon footprint, however you can balance that with a small batch local gin, whisky, rum, microbrewed beer, or a Berkshire county hard cider. If you want something a bit more traveled than that they have Italian Amaris, Sambucas, French vermouth, German rieslings, British pints of black and milds, Mexican mescal, twenty year old aged tequilas, and so much more.
