Unfortunate how I have to leave such a bad review like this.

Ryan was an outstanding teacher. Very patient with all of us and helped us make good wheel pots. Happy to have left her a tip and would again. The experience otherwise outside of the class itself was problematic and a nightmare.

I booked a session of pottery with me and 12 of my friends. There was a Groupon on the Groupon website that didn't specify there would be any issues. Yosh checked us in and Grish confirmed that the Groupon wouldn't apply. Everyone already being there after careful planning and having started made it impossible to reschedule without being on the hook for at least some of the cost.

Finishing the session, again, Groupon not honored by Grish -- acting manager in charge -- and not everyone has been able to receive a refund for this particular annoyance so far from Groupon customer service. So not only was it a bit of false advertising that we could get the rate cheaper and that the Groupon was useable but now we may be out even more money having to pay essentially twice -- since no one wants to go back and use the Groupon if they won't refund it, essentially burning the cost of the Groupon.

We chose this shop not because it was conveniently located but because it appeared to be worth the drive for the cheaper rate and we did bring 13 customers. Had I known this we would have scheduled something in Seattle for cheaper than the double we are now paying essentially from the class plus the burnt Groupon. A better business should have understood the issue, still been happy for the business and made an exception for the business we were giving them. Not this place. If my pot magically breaks in the kiln, you know why.

Avoid...

Super bummed with how this turned out. I should have done more research and checked this place out before wasting $365. We enrolled my daughter into 11yrs and older class and by class I was assuming they actually teach the kids. My daughter is very good at drawing, better than most. She's won contest and has her art hanging in a school. Our first day was pretty shocking. The building itself is in horrible condition (with the amount we paid, there should be some up keep) the toilet was practically falling off the wall as well as the sink. I'm pretty sure they don't even turn the heat on. I was told to drop her off and I couldn't stay, um, no. I'm not leaving my 11yr with a stranger. One of the reasons was because of covid (I understand that) but when we walked in she was basically sitting shoulder to shoulder with the other kids. I stayed. The guy teaching the class was telling the kids to do shading, but didn't offer any advice or info on how to shade, thought this was an art class? Then they spent 45 min doing water colors. She's not 5, she knows how to use water colors. I spoke to the Manger who told me another parent was also not impressed with how it was going. She offer both us a separate class sitting in another room (not a room a table by the bathroom) they talked about what the girls like to draw and then didn't even do that, instead drew a building. I text the Manger and ask for a refund. Given the situation and other people's complaints I didn't see this being an issue, even if she refunded half. I didn't get a refund. Do yourself a favor and do not go to those "art" class unless you're looking to pay $365 just for your...

What started as the best experience ended in a disappointing one. We came in on our 14th anniversary to paint ceramics. We live a ways away and it was absolutely worth the drive. We loved the studio and the experience, and it made our anniversary very special. When we left we were given a card with pickup instructions stating to pickup in 5 days. The hours on Google indicated they were open today (Friday) 12pm - 8pm. We were excited to pickup our memories and headed out. When we got there we saw what might've been a class coming out. We walked in to an empty studio. We showed the front desk the picture as requested and they told us we were there at the wrong time, and they don't allow pickups at this time. I said I didn't know about a pickup time. The card didn't give any times. I went during business hours. I was completely caught off guard by the far from friendly customer service. I was told to look at the door for the hours. They were having a class. I pointed out the studio was empty but more importantly I just followed the card. If the card gave the hours, I would absolutely have come during whenever that was. I thought business hours. They repeatedly told me I'm not supposed to be there. I was caught off guard by this. I also had my 5 year old with me, who got to experience this reception. They made an "exception " when I said I traveled quite a ways away. The way I felt treated didn’t feel great and the lasting impression I have of our special time there is saturated with feeling incredibly bad for following directions on a card I was given. I would encourage you to update your card that you give to people...

I was searching for resin art classes in Seattle and came across creative hands studio. I found out they offer a resin workshop at least once a month so I signed up through their website. On arrival, the parking lot was completely full and I thought I was going to have to find parking gas station or something because they’re not exactly in an area with street parking. That was a little frustrating because I thought I would end up being late to the workshop - so I parked in a spot next to a parking spot in the dirt/gravel area which was probably not a real spot. The resin workshop was being held upstairs. They started off the workshop by having everyone introduce themselves and say whether or not they had worked with resin before. We each have our own station with a canvas, an apron, and plastic wrap on the floor. While the class was guided by staff, some parts were not exactly clear, and we had to explicitly ask clarifying questions to make sure we were at the right step in the process. Everyone in the class had totally unique pieces of art by the end. It was really cool to see how different colors and pouring styles created different effects on the canvases. Every piece is truly one of a kind! The pieces needed to dry, so you had to wait at least a day to come back and pick it up. This was a bummer because I traveled quite a ways, but I ended up making a trip out of it when I went to pick up my art. This is truly a unique experience, and I would definitely recommend a resin workshop to anyone who’s curious and wants to try something new.
