As an avid fan of chicken teriyaki, there is a wide range of how this dish can be prepared, especially in terms of the cut of chicken, how the meat is prepared and cooked, and the specifics of the sauce itself (thickness, sweetness, etc.). Granted, there are definitely personal preferences around those, but there are clear tiers that separate restaurants. Having tried several places on the Eastside, I can say that Midori has consistently been in my top tier in terms of quality and value if you're looking for teriyaki. Portions are plentiful, and the sauce is exceptionally balanced. Service is very friendly, and if you are dining in, there are many nice touches like how the water station is set up. Their teriyaki chicken and spicy teriyaki chicken were delicious (but I would go to Ta Joia down the road if I only wanted that), but their yakisoba was the best I’ve had in years. Generous portion plus it has wonderful wok hei that gives it a delicious smoky and charred flavor. My only complaint is I ordered the combination yakisoba the second time which was supposed to be chicken, pork, beef, and shrimp…and it had a single shrimp in it and the pork wasn’t my favorite. The beef teriyaki is...
