The wait time borderline (25min) lots of open tables, even though we asked for coffee it took awhile for it show up, they asked if we wanted cream ~ not specifying that they only have plain cream. Server walked off after calling for them multiple times, finally had to get up and go find somebody else to get help. In the end the coffee was burnt. I mean that's an achievement of some sort or they were serving yesterday's coffee reheated. BTW that coffee was about $4 on its own, for black drip burnt coffee. I had ordered the fresh vegetable omelette. My mistake was not asking exactly what vegetables were included. To my horror they included broccoli. Don't seem to remember there being any onions included though. The presentation of said omelette was lazy. It took me a minute to figure it out but they flopped it from the pan on onto the plate. They overcooked the bottom and it showed. The top side (now facedown on the plate) looked right. I also ordered a side chicken fried steak. It was actually a decent size. As a first for me, I have never had a medium cooked chicken fried steak. Again, my fault for not specifying. As for the taste, it was just above bland. Thankfully the can commercial gravy they used offered some sort of flavor. About 3/4 of the way through our meal we got our first refill of burnt coffee and water, after I asked for it. Atmosphere was alright, place is a newer building, looks nice but it's chilly inside. For a good laugh, they are offering to sell you their coffee mugs 1 for $20, 2 for $30. This was my first and thankfully last time going there. As Spider-Man would say in Family Guy "Everybody gets one".

Single parent review. Dutch babies here are AWESOME, they have both regular and apple. But they take forever, so we now order one as soon as we are seated for the table as a brunch appetizer. My kids dislike that the cocoa doesn't have a lot of whip cream, but they also don't like the whipped topping that this place uses. Having tasted it I agree it is not real cream and tastes like chemicals. Whip cream aside the food is tasty and the service is generally good. Plus there is not an hour wait at 9:30 on a Saturday morning like some other places. They make all their own syrups here, the strawberry and blueberry are my favorite. My son loves the apple syrup on the bacon waffles. Serving sizes are also HUGE and normally I will just order an extra plate and share some of my kids food. The mushroom omelette with gravy is another family favorite, super rich, it also takes a while to come up and my son had to watch others eat as it came out a good ten minutes after everyone else's food which was a bummer for him. Overall great place to eat with kids, lots of choices for my little and a kids menu with things to color, games and crayons that are wrapped and not touched by thousands of other little hands. 😊

Great breakfast joint. Worth checking out. I went right at 730a opening. This place fills up fast. Very good service. Very attentive and not necessarily in the best way. In all fairness the service is probably speedy because it's so popular but I felt rushed. So not the best place if your looking to relax and have a slow weekend breakfast. The food, fantastic, filling, huge portions. Not cheap but not expensive due to the portion sizes. Definitely get what you pay for. I had the Chicken Sausage Omelette. Could serve 3 people! So fluffy and yummy! UPDATED (6/7/18) to 5 stars. Much better service this time around. The waitress, I think her name was Dee? Was amazing! Very friendly & attentive but most off all super helpful & informative with the menu. Made anything we want happen!

As an avid fan of The Pancake house, my mom and I decided to stop in today for a quick breakfast. After months of not going to restaurants due to Covid-19, I was eager to enjoy my hot coffee and pancakes. We pulled up to the restaurant, and immediately noticed the new paint job they must have recently done. It looked good, with a modern touch.

As we walked in, we were greeted by a nice young man who looked to be a manager of sorts. He greeted us to our table, and walked us through the new menu. According to him, around two weeks ago, new owners took over. He said they owned many of the Pancake House's around Washington, and were adding this one to their list. He explained that not much changed except for some new menu items and that the hash browns are now more chunky than the normal sliced. Whatever, I'm not too picky.

My mom and I both ordered Corned beef hash with eggs and pancakes. The wait time wasn't long, although they brought someone elses food to our table by accident. We brushed it off, as they were probably new staff. However, what we didn't brush off was the actual breakfast itself. What we immediately noticed was the food content was a lot less than it used to be. I wouldn't normally be too upset with this, but the dishes went up around three dollars in price. The pancakes were small and the hash browns were a small amount as well. Once again, this would be fine if the price stayed the same.

The eggs were fine, coffee was hot and savory, and the pancakes were mediocre at best. They lacked flavor, which meant drenching syrup in it was our only option. What wasn't very good, however, was the corned beef hash. It had a very weird ketchup flavor, almost like they cooked it with an overly-amount of tomato paste. They just had a funky taste to them, which really saddened me. The corned beef hash was one of my favorite things to get before, and now that they changed it I may not be coming here as often. The prices really skyrocketed too, and for less food that doesn't sound right. A cup of coffee was almost four dollars and each dish of corned beef hash was almost 17 dollars.

We then waited what felt like ages for our check. She gave it to us and then vanished. We had so much free time, as a matter of fact, that we bussed our own table! Finally, we stood up and physically gave her the check. To her credit, she was new and was trying the best she could. I've worked fast food so I know what it's like to get overwhelmed sometimes.

Overall, the worst experience so far out of the dozens of times I've gone to the pancake house. The food was "meh" at best, certainly not very appetizing. My mom barely finished her food. The new owners need to make sure service is a little better and bring the old Corned beef hash...

I work in the same knook that this location resides in. I have been to many other locations and have immensely enjoyed the food and service. However, I no longer will be stopping in to any of them because of this experience. Today I had to leave early from work as I have the flu. I hadn’t grabbed bus money before I left home as I didn’t realize I would need it, my symptoms started to hit me 30 minutes into work. So I stopped into The Original Pancake House to get change for the bus as it was 9:45 in the morning and the only place within a 2 mile radious actually open. I had heard many bad reviews from this place by other people who work in this area and a prettt decent amount of customers as well. I had just ran into a couple who were fuming about how terrible they had been treated on my walk to the front doors this morning. But I figured given the circumstance nothing bad could happen. Keep in mind I was leaving work so I had a work uniform on and was very cleaned up and professional in my appearance. They refused to give me change even after I explained my full circumstance including that there was no other place I could get change from without an incredibly long walk. Now I also work in the food industry so I understand not doing that for the shady characters coming in with counterfeits. But I work directly across the street from these people and gave them NO reason to not help me. I am supremely lucky my friend was able to come pick me up as I was so sick it was becoming increasingly difficult for me to stand. The manager who spoke to me needs a lesson in customer service and maybe a new set of eyes while we are at it because he was obviously looking down on me. There was no reason for you to have turned me down in my time of need, sir. None whatsoever. I am not one for gossip but, needless to say next time one of my fellow work neighbors is talking down about this place I will...

Our server was Marisela, table 4.

My girlfriend and I decided to try this place instead of our regular breakfast spots. We joined the waitlist online and the wait took about 10 or 15 minutes. They never texted us when our table was ready so we actually lost our spot and had to wait an additional 10 minutes or so. Our waitress took our drink order, but didn’t come back to take our food order for 10 minutes or so. We waited quite awhile before she finally took our order. We got decaf coffee and the coffee tasted pretty bad. I ordered the corned beef hash with eggs for $18 or so. The portion was pretty small considering the price. I asked for a fork since the fork I got was pretty dirty. She never brought me the fork. They gave us pancakes and never brought our syrup. We had to ask for it. I ended up just eating my food with a spoon because she forgot the fork again the second time and I didn’t want to really ask again. She refilled our decaf coffee and told us she would bring more creamer. She didn’t bring the coffee creamer and our coffee eventually got cold anyways. Our waitress never checked on us the entire meal. Whenever we needed something, we had to ask another server. She didn’t even bring our meal at the end. I had to go to the reception desk at the front of the restaurant to ask if they could have someone send the bill and some to go boxes. The place was cold also, but it was nicely decorated. The food was good, but as I mentioned the portions were pretty small.

So overall, our waitress took awful care of us and the service was slow. The food was way to expensive considering the portions. The check in system doesn’t work well. We don’t plan on going back. We wouldn’t recommend it to...
