Edit: Korea House has changed hands. They kept the menu, but now have a different interpretation on each dish, none of which are as good as when this place was owned and operated by the Kim family.
Edit: I've been going here for years, now, on at least a monthly basis. It's as good as ever. I'm not Korean, but this is my comfort food.
Original: Having moved from silicon valley and finding a second home at SJ Omogari in San Jose, we had given up on finding good Korean food after relocating to Bothell. When searching, we'd venture over toward Shoreline and Edmonds and find okay food (or good but expensive food), but nothing that made the trip worthwhile.
Korea House is like God was listening to our prayers. I'm afraid I'm kind of hung up on dol sot bi bim bap, so that's what I ordered here and it was perfect. The ingredients mixed perfectly with the seasoned meat and the rice crisped, all paired with some fantastic side dishes (all of them were as good as anywhere else and their pickled daikon was better than the rest). The service was friendly and efficient. The place felt new and clean, with an eclectic but appealing ambiance. The prices were reasonable... not inexpensive, but I felt like I got what I paid for.
Probably not a great place for kids, but you can bet we're going to become regulars.
Edit: Actually, my kids love this place. They split an order...
Read moreIt's real busy here when I came on Saturday evening (6:30pm-ish) but the wait was pretty quick anyway! (Less than 10 minutes). They have so many choices on the menu!!! We tried the house special which includes a variety of dishes including side dishes and also the tofu soup. The galbi was good, not a lot of meaty pieces, quite a bit of fatty pieces and bone as expected. The flavor was food though. I wish the onions were sauteed though, they were pretty raw on the dish. The chicken katsu was good, came with a dipping sauce. The steamed mandu also good! I usually don't like mackerel but I liked theirs, just watch for bones. The side dishes were excellent! Reminds me of the side dishes I get in K town in Los Angeles but they don't refill for you. The seafood soon dooboo was yummy, I liked that it wasn't overly salty and had good flavor. Lots of seafood and tofu in it, my only complaint was the seafood was quite gritty for many of the shellfish. I got medium spicy which tasted like a mild normally. Overall was very satisfied with our visit! The staff came off a bit curt in the beginning but likely because they were so busy, once we were sitting and eating they were friendly and attentive. I would recommend visiting and I would come back if I'm craving Korean food! Prices seem to be normal for the area, expect to spend $12-23 or so per person...
Read morejust had my second visit to Korean House in Bothell, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. They are simply awesome!
The moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with big smiles and made me feel right at home. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.
Now, let's talk about the food. It's absolutely delicious! Korean House offers a wide variety of mouthwatering Korean dishes that cater to different tastes. Whether you're a fan of classics like bibimbap and bulgogi or want to try something new, they have it all.
During my visits, I tried several dishes, and each one was a delight. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was impressive. The Kimchi Jjigae was a standout for me, with its rich and spicy broth filled with tender pork and tangy kimchi.
The service at Korean House is also top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely cares about ensuring you have a great dining experience.
Overall, I can't recommend Korean House enough. If you're in Bothell and craving some fantastic Korean cuisine, this is the place to go. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
