Never going back.
Was a regular here and I really enjoyed it. But with the new management that took over they got new systems. And was trying to check out but the system crashed and we were waiting at the register for 10 minutes for the workers to fix it. They never got it fixed and we just decided to leave. We could have waited all that time and more for them to fix the system but the issue was Kimberly the worker who was checking us out. She was the rudest worker I have ever encountered. We made sure to unclip and unhang all of our clothes that were on hangers and put them on the hanger rack. To make it easier for her and then she started being rude out of no where. Sighing and then she demanded us to move the clothes that she had put in bags off the counter that she put on the counter. Like she couldn’t just do that herself. Then she was sighing when the system stopped working and acting like it was our fault. She was rolling her eyes and just acting like a 5 year old throwing a temper tantrum…when she looked to be 45 years old. So embarrassing for her. What an absolute waste of time. And it was honestly embarrassing for their management that had to come to the front to fix the system and they did not even know what they were doing. 3 people were trying to figure it out and no one had a clue. We tried changing registers and everything nothing worked. We waited 10+ minutes and they offered no discount for wasting our time or anything. I asked Kimberly what her name was and she was like “Kimberly…why???” And it was the absolute rudest tone and response ever. Then when we told the workers we were just going to leave the one girl in management said “I don’t blame you”. Instead of offering a solution like a good manager would do. Can’t believe people like that actually run a store. Like wow all I needed was some maternity clothes because nothing fit anymore and this is the type of service you get. Cannot believe they would treat a pregnant woman this way. Absolutely ridiculous. Would give 0 stars if I could. Save yourself by just going someone else. Because this place is turning into a goodwill with their prices always on a rise. All they care about is profit when they get all their clothes for free.

Read moreI visited Friday evening for the first time and was unprepared for how amazing this place is! First, the store is HUGE - now I know I will definitely need to dedicate a few hours to go through everything here. I found a Kate Spade bag for $13 - extremely fair pricing given that the interior needs a good cleaning. I also found a no name bag that caught my eye. Using google lens, I was able to discover it is a vintage bag that sells on eBay for $75-$100 - I grabbed that for $18. I didn't look through the clothing and focused mainly on the accessories and homewares. The clothing is only organized by style and then by color so you will need to sort through each piece to find your size.
I paid for my items and the young guy that checked me out was so kind and was easy to make conversation with. As a former manager for 7+ years of a consignment store, I know how the end of the day can be challenging to spark up a conversation with every person you ring out - especially because some customers can be quite rude when it comes to secondhand items. But this guy was awesome and totally appreciated him for ending my first trip here on such a positive note. I wish I had caught his name! But, young man who was working the register by the jewelry case the evening of 2/17/2023 - you rock! Thank you for discovering that my little brass apple knick knack had a secret compartment hiding...
Read moreVOA used to be a hidden gem, but in the last 9-10 months has gone the corporate ‘goodwill’ route in terms of hiking up prices, reorganizing, and introducing with ill sorted “grab bags” of junk. It’s very disappointing, as I’ve been shopping there for years. It’s unaffordable now, and seeing couches for $100+, used appliances priced higher than brand new box stores and a grandfather clock for $300+ last week was the final straw for me. The counter area has items so overpriced it feels like whoever is pricing them uses google lens, chooses the maximum $ amount and doesn’t think of the demographic this store should be serving. If the profits from this store benefit veterans, getting items off the shelves, especially when those items were DONATED to begin with should be a priority. (It certainly used to be one, but with the recent changes, this no longer seems to be the case.)
50% off for the last Tuesday of the month is a great promotion, but when prices are being gouged normally, the 50% off just doesn’t hit like it did...
