Have watched movies there since it was a large single screen theatre, when Roy Forehand managed it, with the lighted curtain show and Glenn Miller music, and Saturday double features, a western and if I were lucky, a pirate movie. I remember the original "Magnificent Seven" and its stirring theme song, when in the 4th grade, the teacher asked us to name a famous composer, I said Elmer Bernstein and she said, I was lying, there was no such person. I meant Leonard Bernstein, she said. Facts and history proved her wrong. I remember being scared to death at "The Alamo" and how come they had all the fancy suits and we were so plain, except for Colonel Austin? I saw "Romeo and Juliet" and "The Man who would be King" when I was older, just to name a few great movies. The concession stand and the bathroom look and smell the same now as they were back then.    Read moreA historic site and the place where my grandparents went on their first date, the Liberty has not lost its charm. It may be a little rough around the edges but that is what comes with about 100 years of character.
The restrooms have been newly renovated and the façade has been restored in vibrant colors and in an art deco style. They have an excellent selection of candies and good popcorn. The only negative is that this historic cinema lacks the steeply sloped seating of modern competitors. There is a slight slope but little ones may want to bring a booster or sit behind other children.

   Read moreI have a large family of seven that loves going to the movies but this day and time it is very hard to take everyone and then we discover this very beautiful & historical theater just a 25 min drive from home been coming here for about a yr and half - $4. tickets for brand new release movies - you can't ask for anything better - Great friendly staff- the older gentleman who you buy the tickets & makes you feel like welcome to my home - great selection in the concession stand & everything is clean. They just recently updated there carpet and chairs and projector & sound which makes this even a better choice...
