Went in on a Saturday to sell comic books and trading cards. Said they don't buy back on the weekends (something about the appraiser not being there?). Not a problem at all and I planned on coming back on a weekday. I thanked them and started to leave, and the guy at the counter asked if he can see the stuff I was selling. He asked in like a "hey that looks really cool I wanna see" kind of way. Very friendly and polite. He was extremely excited while looking through it all and he mentioned he hadn't seen those specific cards in many years. Overall it was a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere and I looked forward to coming back later.
Well, I went back the following Wednesday and had basically the opposite experience, although not at first. I walked in to find a different employee at the counter and someone buying some stuff. The employee was very friendly and polite with the customer. There was also a man sitting in a chair right by the door, facing the register, who was also giving off a friendly vibe.
Then everything instantly changed when it was my turn. I asked if they were buying back today, she asked if I was selling comics. I said yes and handed her what I had. Then I asked if they buy trading cards also and she said no. (This contradicts other reviews, but to be fair, those reviews are older and policies can change. But why was this not mentioned or even hinted at on Saturday?)
She quickly flipped through the comics I had and said she had to pass on those today. This was very surprising given my experience that weekend. I know I didn't have any gems in there, but some were still worth something. When I checked each one online before coming in the first time, most were a buck or two but some were being sold for $20+ on eBay and Amazon. And the trading card collection I had was being sold with a couple other items for $100, and I know the collection itself is definitely worth something. So it's strange to me that they weren't even interested in making a low-ball offer. I thanked her and turned to leave and saw the guy in the chair giving me the dirtiest look I've seen in I don't even know how long, and I'm not sure what exactly I did to earn that.
The overall vibe I got on Wednesday was "you're not one of us, so you're not welcome here." I will definitely not be returning to this place for any reason and I certainly can't recommend it to any other...

Original review....
What fantastic people! My son Jack turned 8 lately. Also lately, he became a Star Wars fan. While he got lots of figures from the original trilogy (yeah Dad is old!), he wanted some from the later movies. One in particular? C3P0 with a red arm from Episode VII. No problem I found a listing on ebay. Oh wait... It was actually a comic book about how he got his red arm. With a cover that looks like the action figure in packaging. Oops! But it all ended up good as Jack enjoyed the "origin story" of the red arm, and I found the action figure elsewhere.
So....
I left a similar review on ebay saying that the good people of Pack Rat Comics described the product well (it was my silly mistake not theirs) and that we ended up liking it anyway.
The next thing I knew, there seemed to be a second package coming from them. I contacted them telling them that all was good, I had given them 5 stars already, etc.
I get a reply.... "Jack might be receiving another package."
Not only did they send Jack a hat with their logo and another comic book, but also a set of three action figures from one of the movies!
Just incredible. It seems like Jack is getting into comics now, and I know where we will be buying them.
Thanks guys! I sent you a picture of the happy boy...
Read moreBait and switch and sleazy owner vibes. Definitely don't waste your time selling here! The owner quoted us a price on the phone, we come in a few hours later, lady says she's the owner and acts like she has no memory of our call from ~2 hours prior, so she tries to low ball us now that we're in the store. When we said we were quoted differently on the phone, she was clearly trying to take advantage of the fact that we loaded up our truck and drove 40 minutes to sell and she kept insisting we never spoke to her. She claimed her male partner must have told us the wrong price on the phone because his cat is sick (what???), but she was absolutely the one we spoke to, her voice is pretty distinct and said no other woman had been working that day. This lady was all bad attitude, zero customer service skills, and really rude. Went over to Half Priced Books and got more than the offer she quoted us on the phone, so, yeah, bait and switch scammer trying to take advantage of people once they get...
