I felt like I was in high school and the employee was a mean girl… Really great products- but the employee checking me out’s only words to me were “you can put your stuff down” while I stood there for 5-10 minutes listening to her ACTUALLY gossiping about “15-16 year old girls”. (She was about 25-30 years old with long blonde hair- surfer girl- really pretty) She never even looked at me. She didn’t say a word while she very slowly rang me up, focusing all her attention on her friends that were standing there. I think her friends even thought it was cringy- they kept trying to get out of the convo/store, but she would just bring up another subject. Then I was waiting for my receipt but she just started fiddling with it and folding it in half over and over, continuing talking to her friends who are trying to inch their way out. Read moreI have shopped many times here previously. Today, upon examining their avocados, all unlabeled, I asked if they were organic. "Yes," was the unequivocal answer. As I was looking for a ripe one, I found one with the tag still on: California Hass Avocado 4046.
Apparently, the tags had all been removed, and they just missed that one. When I was checking out, I mentioned (politely) to the check-out clerk (who had misinformed me earlier) the error, and she just said "Oh."
Not, "I'm sorry," or "that was a mistake." She then proceeded to be very rude to me for the rest of my checkout.
So, despite the claim on the door that everything is 100% organic, it apparently is not the case. I'm not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure it's not legal to remove labels from food except by the consumer, and neither is it legal or ethical to pass non-organic produce...
