Read moreOverall, wonderful. The courtyard is honestly quite beautiful at night. The only downside to this visit was the experience my family & I had while walking and browsing in Nieman Marcus. My 18 yr old wanted to go in and look at shoes & I love a good handbag; however, as my daughter & I separated from my two sons we were followed & approached 5x by four different sales associates. Each time me telling them we were just looking and moving on. Then as I made my way over by the fragrances another woman approached me as I was smelling a tester/sample. I thought it was a regular encounter until I realized her and the other woman (Diane) behind the ladies fragrance counter had a condescending tone. I was ready to spend $225 on a bottle of perfume I've wanted for over a year, instead I walked away because I'm just unwilling to spend my money with individuals who clearly treat people unkind.
The security guard at the door (African American woman w/braids) she was pleasant when I acknowledged her by saying goodnight. And the younger woman working the YSL boutique in handbags was a bit friendly than the others and invited in to browse the bags, I declined but it was nice of her to treat me as a patron rather than someone she needed to "watch".
I worked in retail for 17 years and didn't act or approach people that way. Makes me rethink ever going into the...
Read moreThe Oakbrook Center provides the best shopping experience I have ever been to. Its anchored by all of the major high end department stores including; Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Lord and Taylor. This outdoor mall is also a pleasure to just walk around as well. It was recently redesigned with modern architecture, landscaping, water fountains, and a brand new section that offers home designing, restaurants, and hotels. All of the standard stores that a mall would have are included plus a number of specialty stores including; a Tesla store, Rolex, Burberry, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Sur La Table, The Container Store, Godiva, and a number of other great stores and restaurants. I recommend Perrys Steakhouse for a great dine in experience. I was fortunate to have been there for the holidays and found the decorations, lights, and Santa Village to be extremely festive. Oakbrook recently added AMC Theaters in 2016 as well. So hurry in before the floor gets sticky. Parking is never a problem. When they added AMC they also attached a brand new parking garage that has a number of floors. Plus there's parking underneath the mall and on the sides. I guess the only place where you can't park would be on the roof. So what are you waiting for? Go to Oakbrook Center and see it all...
