I took my 2 sterling silver Tiffany’s bracelets (one with 2 hearts of my sons engraved and one 10mm round ball) to this Oakbrook location on June 16, 2021. My bracelets were in need of cleaning and polishing and possibly one needing a claw clasp replacement. I have taken my bracelets for cleaning and polishing in the past. Each time I have used the services I left them and received them back in the mail from Tiffany’s in New York. Not this time. The service rep informed me that since I didn’t have an appointment that I would have to leave them and they would be ready in a week. I assumed they would be sent out. My claw clasp was jammed and she indicated that the cleaning might solve the problem. ...,. So I go to pick them up today June 27, 2021 and the rep who assisted me today took them out of the blue cloth bag and I was shocked!!! My bracelets were dull and more tarnished than when I left them on June 16. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I told her those weren’t cleaned and she said they were cleaned just not polished. She told me that they would have to be sent out to be polished. Which was fine with me until she told me all the fees involved and the cost of shipping. Then my clasp is totally jammed shut and I told her that I was told that this would be looked at and she said that it would have to be sent out to NY. So then she tells me all the fees $35 to polish and clean each bracelet and $20 shipping. I’m in shock. Then I ask how much to replace my clasp that is jammed shut now ..$59. So to clean and polish both bracelets that are Tiffany bracelets and replace the claw clasp (which replacing the clasp I understand a fee) will be $114 ... I really used self control as not be mad at this rep. But the original rep I’m not happy with. I left Oakbrook Tiffany’s on June 16 assuming that when I returned to pick up my bracelets that they would be cleaned polished and possibly repaired. I don’t appreciate driving 50 MILES each way and today June 27 I don’t have my bracelets on my wrist as I had no choice but to agree with all the ludicrous service charges and send them to NY. Now I have an estimated return date of July 27. A third trip I will have to make. I was not interested in paying shipping mainly because I don’t have good experiences with the USPS. Another story. I am extremely disappointed in Tiffany’s customer service. The initial rep obviously isn’t interested in being thorough with the customers and explaining the reduced services that are being offered now with fees attached. Not to mention she seemed put out that I didn’t have an appt.! Nor did she know the product and how to evaluate my jammed claw clasp. The rep today was very informative, thorough and genuinely sorry for the service that I received on June 16... Tiffany and Co is lucky to have such a stellar employee as TAMARA T to be able to turn things around for the customer. The service I received on the first visit was unacceptable. And then to go to pick up my bracelets today and they look worse than when I dropped them off. I have my receipt work order from 2019. And both bracelets where sent out for cleaning and polish and shipped to my home. The fee was $0.00. Again I understand the cost of a new clasp. Also I think the rep needs to explain cleaning doesn’t include polishing anymore. So what’s the point with SS. The items will still be tarnished. So disappointed but thankful TAMARA T was who I...
Read moreI always had a great experience with the sales staff, I purchased quite a few items that they alway remember me and my family when we walk in, very nice. The reason why I will not be doing any more purchases at Tiffany in Oakbrook is because of management (Kurt) and service. My last purchase was an engagement ring and wedding bands for my wife and I, in less than a year a Diamond fell off my wife’s wedding band. I took the ring into service for repair, Kurt the manager was supposed to reach out to me for the status of the repair, he never did. Why wife called and she was told there was going to be a fee for the repair, I would understand if the ring was several years old but it was only 9months and I paid close to $20,000 on the rings not even a 1year warranty. Basically whatever you buy if it falls apart as soon as you walk out the store it’s your problem. I felt cheated, I felt like I bought something out of the barging bin at Walmart. They didn’t even give me a straight answer on why the Diamond fell off, first I was told it was a bent prog but there was no physical damage on the ring then I was told dirt pushed the Diamond out witch sounds ridiculous. I called today to check on the status of the repair and the repair was done and arrived at the store a few days ago, I asked if they contact customers when their repairs are ready to be picked up. They said yes the manager Kurt was supposed to contact you but of Course he never did.
Follow up: I picked up my wife’s ring last night and according to the experts at Tiffany who have been serving and inspecting rings for many years, they reported that dirt pushed out the Diamond on my wife’s ring. This is got to be a new species of dirt to be so powerful and have the ability to expand and push a Diamond out on a high quality ring, I should of asked for a sample of this dirt to have it sent out for testing. I am not making this up you can verify this with the manager (Kurt) at Tiffany in...
Read moreBought a 750$ necklace today and i feel like the guy was suspicious of me? I came in to pick up my TWO tiffany bracelets from cleaning and was in a rush. I had to go to dinner and i just finished my first week of work and decided quickly to treat myself. I’ve known that i’ve wanted the necklace forever. I didn’t want to talk myself out of it again so i was in a rush.
I asked the dark haired man with glasses to try on the necklace and i quickly said i’ll take it. BECAUSE I WAS IN A RUSH he seemed super suspicious of me as if i didn’t just pick up and drop off several items from tiffany for cleaning. they have my account and name. i told him to just put it into a little pouch and didn’t need to box it up.
He looked at me like i was crazy. He kept on asking me over and over if i wanted a bag, then kept asking if i wanted to wear it out. No, i just wanted it in the pouch like i stated several times. He said i seemed like i was in a rush and asked why. I informed him of my dinner plans and he asked me where i was going… so uncomfortable you could tell he was sketched out for NO reason whatsoever. He saw that i had tiffany jewelry on. i’ve been going to this store for 13 years.
he was acting strange so i said “don’t worry, it won’t be getting returned” and he just didn’t even acknowledge it. not even a “oh yeah i understand”.
The whole interaction was weird and uncomfortable when all i wanted to do was get my things and get to my dinner reservation. i regret purchasing the necklace with this guy and honestly he gave me some really bad anxiety. i felt like he thought i was scamming the store and that’s not the case at all..really disheartening and i don’t think i’ll be...
