Don’t get me wrong I love sandbox and it was a phenomenal experience in my last visit. This time I was going to come on a Monday night as a walk in. I saw all the timings available for majority games. This was around 8:30pm till 10pm timings were all available. I wasn’t sure what time I would be exactly available after my busy schedule so I gave them a call before hand around 8:45ish stating “can I come by walk in” the female employee at the night shift of Monday said yes come before the last booking of the night which was 9:50 so come by 9:45pm. So I drove 20 min to come here and I have arrived before 9:50. I was at the check out page of the deadwood valley but at the checkout page it said error and she had refreshed the page and then the option wasn’t available and only option that was available was squid game and amber. I was getting upset due to fact I wasn’t able to book it right at the check out process. I was being rushed by her bc after 9:50 the system closes so I had to make a decision of not doing it bc at the end all games weren’t available after the deadline mark. It’s really sad that driving from New York to Chicago and I had a blast before but this experience was really heartbreaking. For future reference plz don’t say you can walk in. Or if anyone walks in they should update there checkout page where no one else can book that time slot besides saying error and refreshing it and saying it’s not available no more. At the time of all this process the employee seemed a bit clueless. The experience is lovely but plz improve the website for better checkout process. Btw idk the employee name but the one fork Monday sep 16 ,night shift close to 9:30pm. Have a great day. Hope this issue can be resolved 🤲🏾🤲🏾😞

Overall the experience was amazing. Our group has used VR previously (Occulus Quest) but the full immersion of SandboxVR was something else. You really felt like you were in the game thanks to the responsive vests and the ability to interact with your teammates while in VR. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful in ensuring that the equipment was functioning properly. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because of the wait time. We had a 3:10pm reservation and arrived 15 minutes early, as suggested on the website. But then we sat around until 4:30pm waiting for a room to be ready. So our 1 hour experience ended up taking over 2 hours. Luckily we were all on Spring Break and had nothing we needed to get to immediately afterwards. It appeared that the long wait time was due to walk ins that didn’t have reservations that were given rooms. My suggestion would be that this location designate 1 of the 6 VR rooms for walk in customers and use the remaining 5 rooms to service the reservations. This would help ensure that registered guests are serviced closer to the time they selected (otherwise why have them make a reservation in the first place) and it would still allow walk in guests the opportunity to enjoy the experience as well. Kind of like the fast pass option at amusement parks: guests with reservations should have a shorter wait and walk ins should expect a longer one. Again, overall a fantastic experience, but that wait time needs to be reduced for reservation holders. I would definitely recommend coming here and will most like return.

So we went to sandbox in oak brook for my cousin birthday party and we definitely was excited to play it wasn’t my first time there and to my surprise they chose the same game that I played already so ass we are sitting waiting I’m telling them a little about it we were scheduled to be there at 10:55 yes remind you we weeee late to our first appointment were they told us that they have a 5 minute grace period so we knew not to be late for the second appointment we arrived on time 5 minutes early to be exact we all walk in fill out our wavier and proceed to door 6 and wait for your host we wait were trying to put the gear on so that we can get started cause now we just been sitting for 12 minutes with no help than Devon comes up he greets us we greet him he begins to explain the rules and ask how many ppl than we tells us that we all need to put on the wrist and feet bands make sure the hands or pointed down ok now at this point some of us are like hey can you come this way is this right when I tell you this man acted like he couldn’t touch us like we had a disease or something I’m like hey were trying to figure this out can you help us he replies no you all started putting them on already I can’t help I said wait a minute this isn’t my first time they always help put them in if you need I asked was the rules different here from the other locations he said yea we are not allowed to put on the bands and yall already started without me so just change them around at this point we became very much uncomfortable within 3-5 minutes of the conversation cause now we feel disgusted he turns and walks off literally than as we are talking about the situation MICHEAL walks up hey guys how’s things going I’m on the floor literally sitting on the floor trying to help my team out with putting there bands on MICHEAL steps right in and places his hand on the birthday girls band takes it off and just it the correct way than he walks around and serious I’m amazed cause Devon just told us multiple times that he couldn’t touch us I’m still going to call corporate cause it was the most racist thing to do and for this man to walk up and assist us immediately with no hesitation was truly god looking down on foolishness Devon really needs to find him a better job where he doesn’t have to touch nor assist others it was 6 of us and he treated us like we had a free ticket and didn’t pay to get in or something like we had disease wrote on...

First off I never been to Oakbrook mall before. It's beautiful and huge. We did know exactly where we were going when we first entered the mall. We stopped and asked someone who worked in the mall about the location of the VR Sandbox, and she knew exactly what we was talking about and pointed us in the direction. So whoever is planning on going, it's on the 3rd floor on yours left. You will walk right into it. I was supposed to go on my bday but something came up and I had to cancel. I emailed the company after I read the policy on the cancelation. You can not get a refund 24 hours prior to your appointment. I'm not gonna go in on the whole policy. Just make sure you read it. By it being less than 24 hours, they recommended rescheduling, which was great because I still wanted to go. They were super helpful and answered all my questions, and they worked with me on scheduling and time. My total for 4 people was $250 for Dead Valley. Anyway, we walked in, and they gave us a warm welcome sign waiver at the kiosk in the front for check-in. They were super friendly and a nice staff. My appointment was at 7:20 pm and we arrived at 6:45 pm. It was still a group that was playing when we checked In. The employee told us 20 more mins and gave us the exact time so we can go walk around a little bit. By the time we got back, it was 7:20pm, and they were set and ready for us. They were cleaning the equipment, and she gave us direction and instructions on what to do and what not to do. We had a blast. The only negative thing I have to say the gun selection is first pick so it's only a few good guns the last pickers probably would b upset about the last weapons if they can double the weapons or add additional weapons for everyone have a chance to get a decent weapon. The video does come with it at the end. Take a picture of your scores (killing) on the video it just shows your over score, not a breakdown. It only shows you your kills right after the game. I wish that was on the video so I could have rubbed it in my friends face, but the actual video dont show that. OVERALL A GREAT...

I have mixed feelings about this. I believe the experience itself would have been great IF we had a different person running our game. The person we had didn't give thorough directions and had a very bleh attitude about his job and what needed to be done. It was clear he either didn't want to be there or hated what he was doing. He gave a brief rundown and walked away to leave us to figure it out. It took us way longer than it should have to suit up because of the poor directions given. I watched other instructors help and stay with the group while they put on the gear to ensure there was no confusion. We did not have that with our instructor. We were also told that if we had any trouble during the game, to raise our hand and call out for assistance. One of our players had a problem with the sensors working on one arm and one leg. She raised her hand and called out for assistance and no one came. Then our whole group raised their hands and called out for assistance for this player, and we were still ignored. The next round started and we had to play and the person with the faulty sensors was forced to play with only one arm and I one leg working, having limited mobility. She lost every challenge because the game didn't pick up her sensors. At the end, when I told our person about that, he said, oh well no one else had that trouble and carried on like it was no big deal. He didn't offer an apology or compensation for the loss of rounds she experienced or the crappy experience that we had because of it. I would definitely like to do this again, just not here. I can't guarantee their equipment will work or that the person that you will get will care enough to step in and help if you need it. For what we paid, I would have expected a way better experience and someone that was much more attentive to the game that they were supposed to be supervising. I don't know what he was doing while we were playing, but he didn't do his job and because of that, it severely impacted our experience and our opinion on VR Sandbox. I would consider somewhere else before...
