This is where we are celebrating our 50th year family reunion. This place is right where everything is; food, drinks, entertainment, shopping, it's all located just across the street. This hotel has been renovated. I'm not sure about how long ago. I have been noticing at a few hotels that have been renovated. It's all about simplexity/minimalistic. Thank God no more carpeting but there are rugs. I was missing one of mine in my room. There is plenty of power for our devices. The USB-C units were missing even though they showed that they were there. They do need to upgrade their televisions. They don't have Chromecast connectivity. So that means you have to deal with internet apps and there are only three available. If you have a Chromecast equipped television then you can just send what's on your phone to your TV. So that means you still need to use your device if you have Android. I'm not sure about you Apple users. The pillows on this bed need to be thrown out. There is no support in the pillows. It took me a long time to get comfortable even though I have four pillows on my bed. The internet is terrible here. Wi-Fi does not work. It even went out for hours on Thursday. So don't count on it. Just use your mobile. The washrooms are not very spacious. Remember it has the minimum look. They may have larger rooms with bigger washrooms. Maybe if you get a suite but the majority of the washrooms are not spacious enough. One great thing I did fine. You can actually open the window and get some fresh air. There are screens so no mosquitoes are going to get you. One thing I've been wishing hotels would add is paper towels or napkins. Most of us are eating out and we may bring some back to eat later but we don't have anything to clean our face with. Here's something I learned. Also, when I get my keys for the room I usually don't take them out the little envelope they give you. Don't scan it from the envelope because the door will not open. You need to pull it out. You will hear a click. There were a few family reunions at this location so it seems to be a hot spot. So if you're planning a family reunion, it's a great hotel for that. Your family members, your friends will have plenty of places to go across the street. I may have had some negative things to say, but overall I enjoyed my stay! One more thing, there is no pool, but there should be a water...
Read moreThe only thing nice in this hotel is the lobby.
I was in the area on business and reserved two nights at your hotel. Upon arrival, your associate was very overwhelmed, and several people were waiting in the lobby while the phone was consistently ringing.
Once I checked in and got off the elevators on my floor, I immediately realized your hotel appeared old and run down, contrasting with online images and the lobby area. At this point, I attempted to find another hotel in the area, but there were no other options. After entering my room, I had a Zoom call, and the air conditioning unit was so loud that I had to mute myself out. It was tough to hear when I spoke due to the background noise. I called the front desk and requested maintenance to look at the air conditioning while I went to dinner because there was no way I'd be able to sleep in the room due to the noise from the unit. When I returned from dinner, I began looking at the room and noticed that it was not adequately cleaned; it was old and had bumpy beds. It was dusty, the tub was dirty, and I saw blood throughout the grout in the shower area, in addition to bloody handprints in the bathroom and sleeping area.
Upon showing the front desk pictures of the room, I was moved to another room. However, the new room could have been much of an improvement. It had worn-down beds, dirty floors, a shower, and spatters on the outlets. The worst part was finding feces on the toilet seat. I was given yet another room, which was excellent, new, and clean. However, the previous rooms were unacceptable, and the first one could have easily been a crime scene. This experience was so shocking and disappointing that I decided to leave early and not spend a second night at your hotel.
I am very dissatisfied with the carefree attitude and compensation I received from the employees, including the Assistant Manager Tanya when I spoke with them and showed them pictures of the rooms. I was not charged for the night I stayed at the hotel and was given 20,000 thousand points which is less than a one night stay. However, Tanya didn't initially want to offer anything for the inconvenience and poor experience, stating, " I can't just give...
Read moreI have 3 kids who all travel with sports. This is by far the worst experience to date. When I arrived I asked to use a different card from the one I used to reserve. I was told the credit card machine was down and the manager would be called. The manager didn't answer, so she proceeded to charge the card that I asked her not to charge without asking/ notifying me she was doing so. After running my card she wanted me to stand there while she tried calling the manager again. I asked her what's the point if she already completed the transaction. She stated the manager will call in the AM. Day 2- surprise surprise no manager call in the AM. When I leave my room I always turn around to make sure the door locks. I turn around and could push the door open with my finger. I notified the front desk before leaving because I had a prior engagement. I was advised maintenance would fix it. I get back later in the day to find maintenance never came. Once again I was able to push the door open without turning the handle or using my key. All my belongings were sitting unsecured all day! Day 3 I asked for the room to be serviced. I come back later in the day to find there was no service. Lastly, not only was the wrong card charged I was charged twice! I called the hotel and explained. I was told to call accounting the next day. The next day I was placed on hold. I never spoke to accounting, but was told I would receive my refund in 3-5 business days. I call again on business day 6 to speak to accounting. Of course I didn't speak to them, so I left a message. Business day 8, I call and asked for the manager. No surprise here I went to voicemail and left a message on Friday. It's Tuesday and I still haven't heard from anyone and still didn't receive my money back for being double charged. During this time I also called the corporate number to file a complaint. There has been no follow up there either. I am completely disgusted by this experience. I have been a loyal Hilton Honors member in the past, but decided to try Marriott since it was the team hotel. It's safe to say I'm going back to Hilton as I have never had issues of this magnitude. Good Luck if you decide to stay at this...
