We’ve been to Antico Posto more times than I can count, and let me tell you — they’ve never once dropped the ball. This place has mastered consistency. The vibe is warm, cozy, and just upscale enough to make you feel a little fancy without being stuffy. It’s the kind of restaurant that becomes your restaurant.
Let’s talk food: The chicken parmesan is an absolute must — juicy, tender, perfectly breaded, and covered in just the right amount of marinara and melted cheese. It comes out hot every single time, and it’s the kind of dish you think about days later. I’ve tried to stray and get something different, but the chicken parm calls to me like a siren every time. No regrets. The meatballs? Massive and full of flavor. Like, these aren’t your average meatballs. These are “I’d fight someone for the last bite” level. The pasta is always cooked al dente and tossed in sauces that taste like they were made with actual love, not from a jar. The cream sauces are rich but not heavy, and the tomato-based ones are perfectly seasoned. Even the house salad hits — fresh greens, real shaved parm, and that house vinaigrette? Fire.
Now the service — Crystal is our girl. She’s sweet, attentive, and remembers our order better than we do. She makes the whole night feel relaxed and easy, even when the place is packed. Adan is also a total pro, always on top of things with a great attitude. And Johnathan at the front desk? One of the most personable, professional people you’ll ever meet. Friendly, welcoming, and great at keeping everything running smooth.
Case in point — on our last visit, a full-on Karen decided to pop off about something completely ridiculous. We were already seated, sipping our wine and minding our business, but we saw the whole thing unfold. Johnathan stayed calm, kept it professional, and didn’t let her phase him at all. It was honestly impressive — he deserves a raise, a trophy, and probably a spa day after that. 😂
Whether you’re coming for a date night, a family dinner, or just want to treat yourself to some top-tier Italian food, Antico Posto is it. Five stars, every time. Go for the chicken parm, stay for the service, and if you’re lucky, you’ll get dinner and...
Read morePart of the Lettuce Entertain Enterprise, this cozy Italian cafe is located in the Oakbrook Center . Came on a Saturday night for our Anniversary. Made reservations for 530pm and were seated immediately. Reservations are highly recommended.
This place was hopping! Tables are very close to each other and they turn them around fast.
The waitress was very helpful in explaining their daily specials and menu items. Prices are on the higher end.
My wife is Gluten Free so they had a special menu.
You start with fresh Italian bread and olive oil with giardiniera. They offered to bring a slice of gluten free bread but it never came.
Nice selection of wine..only about 4 beers offered and various cocktails. A glass of wine averages about 14.00 and we did wait for our drinks to be served.
Started with the grilled calamari with garlic and chili flakes served over arugula . A little chewy in our opinion.
My wife ordered the whitefish with mashed potatoes and spinach with a herb butter sauce. Very good portions and flavorful. She asked for the sauce on the side but it came with it already on the fish.
Also ordered the cavatelli with sausage in an Arrabbiata sauce which was a little spicey but very good. Again large portions.
We finished the night with their homemade Turtle Gelato which was creamy and delicious.
Surprised they didn't do anything special for our Anniversary but maybe going on a busy Saturday night was our mistake. Very crowded and seemed rush but the food was very good.
They also do not let you redeem award dollars on Saturdays!
Will go to another Lettuce Entertain You restaurant in the future to use our points but probably not back to...
Read moreSo I checked out Antico Posto in Oakbrook last Friday with my wife—a tiny date-night adventure to try something new. We’d spotted it online, the photos looked great, so we jumped on a reservation. On arrival, we were seated quickly in this cool Italian‑themed restaurant we hadn’t expected to find tucked behind the mall—cozy booths, Tuscan‑style woodwork, dim ambient lights… a definite vibe
We kicked things off with the house‑baked bread, drizzled olive oil and those spicy giardiniera olives and peppers. It was spectacular ....it really was, like biting into warm comfort.
For drinks, we had a negroni and an old fashioned—both hit the spot, balanced and smooth. Then came the whipped ricotta with truffle honey on crisp flatbread and those stuffed peppers packed with Italian sausage and vodka‑kissed sauce. Both came beautifully plated and tasted amazing.
Moving on to mains, we went with the pistachio‑crusted whitefish and chicken piccata. The whitefish was tender, the nut crust added a fun textural twist. The chicken piccata had a bright lemon‑butter‑caper sauce, simple yet satisfying.
Our server stood out, was really helpful, knew the menu well and kept the whole evening relaxed. Those little gestures count.
So if you’re hunting for a solid Italian spot in Oak Brook that’s easy going but still special, Antico Posto is an excellent bet. We loved the vibe, the dishes, and most importantly the value. Good spot for a laid‑back,...
