A Life-Changing Experience at Swift Nature Camp!
My two children recently attended Swift Nature Camp, and I couldn't be more thrilled with their experience. Jeff and Lonnie, the camp directors, have created an environment that fosters growth, learning, and a deep connection with nature. From everything my kids have shared with me since arriving back home, it was clear that this camp is something special.
The staff at Swift Nature Camp are incredibly dedicated and caring, ensuring that each camper feels welcomed and supported - especially because they offer a unique First Time Camper program to support kids’ first time away from home. My kids particularly loved the wide range of activities, from fishing and archery to nature hikes and arts and crafts. They loved all the camp songs, jokes, and traditions. These activities not only kept them engaged but also helped them develop new skills and interests.
What impressed me the most was the emphasis on their growth and independence. My children returned home with newfound confidence and a sense of accomplishment. They made so many friends and memories that they will cherish forever. Swift Nature Camp is not just a place for kids to have fun; it's a place where they learn important life lessons, build character, and gain a deeper appreciation for the natural world. I highly recommend this camp to any parent looking for a transformative and enriching experience for their children.
Thank you, Jeff and Lonnie, for providing such an exceptional camp experience. We can't...
Read moreI attended the camp in 2021 and 2022, this is by far the worst summer camp I have ever been to, there was a Covid outbreak which is not the camps fault but the way the directors did was horrible, there were cabins upon cabins of sick children when they should have just sent them home. Another concern I have about this camp is the sanitary conditions, the cabins were too dirty and they didn’t put guardrails or ladders on the bunk beds so it was so easy to fall off onto the floor, and on one trip, they did not pack enough water which led to us having to drink unfiltered water I puked a lot afterwards, I know a lot of camp food is bad but this was just garbage, another event on the trip was that they didn’t pack enough breakfast bars so they handed out food based on who was the best camper, they also did not give us enough time to put on sunscreen which left me horribly burned, all of these I blame on the directors for bad training and bad management. Under no circumstances should you be sending your kids...
Read moreThis was a first overnight camp experience for our kids and we are glad we chose Swift Nature Camp. The first words we heard from the kids when we picked them up "Can we go again next summer for a longer time?" The communication from the camp directors was daily via email providing a very detailed account of each day activities. Every morning we could not wait to see more pictures of the happy campers posted on their Facebook page. Our kids made lots of friends and had really great things to say about their camp counselors who were kind, caring, nurturing and lots of fun! Love it that their food is freshly made daily by their onsite cook. Loved all the many activities and the values like kindness, politeness, good manners, independence and responsibility instilled daily in a fun way, as well as being close to nature. Looking forward to...
