Local own an run coffee shops like this are just a better experience. The coffee shop feel that Starbucks designed and created many years ago just stole away that comfortable neighbor hood feel that was the magic of a coffee shop. Well the people have spoken and we want that friendly neighborhood feel back. Whidbey Coffee is one of those places. Now they are frowning and expanding to different cities now, but doesn't feel entirely corporate. The coffee is consistent and well made. The attitude and positive attitude of the baristas is welcoming. The coffee is more affordable and get more for your money. There is a good selection of fresh baked pastries and muffins. Cold and hot sandwich. No coffee drinks including; hot cocoa, teas, fruit juices, smoothies and more.

The location was smartly placed on Old Pioneer in Oak Harbor which is a great setting and view of the water and the Oak Harbor Marina. Old Pioneer needs a serious kick start and revitalization to remain relevant and this coffee shop is really helping the look. Hopeful you are not a staunch Starbucks only person cause this place is better in many ways. Give Whidbey...

I've been to this location three times.

First time, staff were friendly and knowledgeable and nothing was wrong with my order.

Second time, I asked to see a mug they had for sale. Staff member proceeds to tell me that this company's mugs suck and she only shells out that kind of cash for Starbucks. I ordered a speciality drink and when she went to look it up, barely looking for it, she said no we don't know how to make since it's not in the book. (-1 star)

Third time, I order a snack pack (two boiled eggs, two cheese sticks, pretzels and peanut butter) as well as ordering that same speciality drink I had tried to order during my second visit. This time the staff member found it and was very friendly. They then proceeded to give me my order and I went about my day. Upon opening my snack pack I found that my cheese was moldy. Didn't even try the eggs.

Take my review as a grain of knowledge. Check your snack packs before leaving and don't hesitate to ask for the speciality drinks as they are ALL AVAILABLE via their binder they have...
