I’m thoroughly disappointed. I’ve had an issue every time I’ve gone (about 5 times), I always overlooked the issues because at the end of the day I wanted to support a local black owned business, and when they finally do my hair it turns out good enough. I’ve always waited a long time for them to start my hair and most times the person I book with is not the person who does my hair. The shop is handled very unprofessionally. What happened to me yesterday is completely unacceptable. I called last Wednesday to ask to schedule an appointment for Sunday - last time I was in the shop I overheard a stylist saying they open on Sunday’s now - the owner answered and said they’re not open Sunday’s but she would check with a stylist who might be willing and call me back. She called me back within an hour and said that Symone agreed to do my hair Sunday at 1pm. I got a confirmation text and email. I arrived to the shop Sunday at 1pm and could tell the place was closed, but that didn’t worry me because I expected it to be just me and the stylist. After waiting 15 minutes I called the shop number and the owner answered and immediately said “what are you talking about we are closed Sunday’s” I reminded her that Symone made an exception and that she called me back to confirm, she said “I don’t know why I did that” then said she would call the stylist and call me back. She text me about 5 mins later and said “she is 15 minutes away, sorry for the confusion”—- I waited for 45 minutes. I text and called back again, no answer! Read moreI've been there 3 times in the last 6 months for a weave. My hair has looked pretty good all 3 times. However the service has gotten worse every time. The first time I went her shop was quite and calm, but this last time was anything but.
I had a 3:30 appointment for which I was on time. When I got there Charlotte was just finishing up someones hair. I Thought I was next, but she had another person there waiting. She put that person in the chair and then left us both to wait while she went to run an errand that took at least an hour. When she got back, she began to bob back and forth between the other client and I. After a while another client showed up and she started that person's hair too! She was now doing 3 heads at the same time.
Her daughter, a very adorable 4 year old was there and had been all day. Since she was so bored she played with me all the while I was getting my hair done. I love children, but when I get my hair done and I am paying hundreds of dollars, I like it quite and to have the full attention of the stylist.
She finished the other 2 client's hair before me and they were gone by about 12:00 AM. Poor me I got out around 2:00 AM!!! So I had a 3:30 appointment and Charlotte finished at 2:00 AM the next day. It was a nightmare an ordeal. After all that she overcharged me by $100, charging me $450.00 for a service that she had quoted me, $350.00. I was so tired I just paid her. Read moreI went there a couple weeks back for a dreadlock install, and I went there a day prior to confirm my appointment so they gave me a number to call and it was the owner and she came off nice, told me that I would be getting a call back from her that never happened. So boom the next day I arrive prompt and when I arrive there’s a receptionist and a stylist on the barber side the receptionist was ok but the owner son that did my hair was really rude and unprofessional. Just complaining about the business and his life like I didn’t come to hear all of that. He abandoned me in the dryer for too long, was really aggressive with my head again just being rude about where my head should be towards and then had the audacity to try to run out the shop when I assumed they thought I was going to leave when I was just going to smoke because he left to do another persons hair while still doing mine. Mind you I’m only doing the top part of my head I was quoted a certain time and it took double that and I specifically said that I only wanted 30-35 pieces of my hair attached but the guy put 44 in there trying to up charge me and it was embarrassing because I only had an amount for the hair and I got charged more than I was expecting. He’s only been doing it for 7 years I suggest he does some more practice because a couple of them have already fell out because they weren’t crocheted in all the way and I’m feeling more that are loose.
