My wife and I have purchased a majority of our furniture from RF throughout the years. With 3 children, we are always looking for furniture that will hold up. Luckily, we purchased a platinum protection plan on our last couch a few years ago and after several repair visits, the RF customer service team decided we were due for a replacement; which was nice. Here is where the story gets bad, we went to visit the RF store in ocean last weekend. We walked in 5 minutes after they opened where there were 3-4 sales people and a manager. We were the ONLY customers in there. Because we were getting a replacement couch, we were told we had to work with the manager. Well, after asking 2-3 times for the manager, he finally came out of his little cube in the employee area and told us that we would need to come back at a later time because he was too busy to help us… again, we were the ONLY customers in the the entire store. I proceeded to tell the manager that this was the only time my wife and I could be shopping together without our children and it was important that we picked out the replacement and he again told us that we could wait for him to finish his tasks and it would be 20 to 30 minutes until he could speak with us. At that point I was extremely displeased and he returned back to his little cube in the back room. Other sales people clearly saw that we were unhappy and dissatisfied, and while they tried to make excuses for him – I made a crystal clear that I would never come back to that location again and moving forward, we would work with the Freehold store which has been an absolute pleasure. Bottom line – retail stores stay in business by making sales. When your store is empty and you have two repeat customers coming in – it is not good business to give them an attitude and talk about how busy you are and make them wait for you. Hope that manager gets this message and has a lesson learned. Amazing how someone could be promoted to manager with such poor Customer Service skills – especially for customers who have purchased most of their furniture from RF. If this store ever closes, it will be due to this type of horrific customer...
Read moreThanks so much for the opportunity to review our buying experience. On Thursday, 9/5/19 my husband and I went to the Raymour & Flanigan store on Rt. 35 in Ocean Township, NJ. We were greeted pleasantly by a salesman who over the course of an hour or so, explained the different options for split king size mattresses and frames. We liked what we saw and purchased the set. It was delivered the next day as promised. However, the delivery guy was in a big rush and hurried us through the setting up the remote controls to lift the various parts of the mattress. He tried to tell my husband that we only needed one remote to work and that we should keep the other one "in case something happens to the first. I asked him if the one control that he set up would control both ides of the mattress and he said no. So he had to set up the other remote, which was what he was supposed to do in the first place. If we let him leave, with out insisting that he finish setting the remotes, the bed wouldn't work. Next problem occurred later that day when I tried using the second remote, and it didn't work. .My husband called the store and a man told him the service number to call. It turned out to be a scam number that wanted to "give"us a certificate for 100 dollars. My husband insisted that he needed the correct number for service and the service rep yelled the number at him and hung up We called the number and reached an answering machine that requested we leave our number and some one would return our call. No one did.I the called the store to complain about the lack of customer concern and the woman who answered the phone assured me that the service provider would call us back. They haven't Luckily, my husband crawled under the bed to check the connections and figured out how to make it work, otherwise I would had to sleep sitting. up. Terrible customer service, lack of concern for making sure the bed was set up properly.I feel that a reliable store has returned to the sales tactics of aluminum siding sale people...
Read more(After receiving an email checking up on us...) We were able to find the Aireloom mattress, made for MACYS, (same as they do for you at (R&F), choice of bunky board or box spring, bed frame, or for 2 cents- a bed frame head portion electric powered adjustable, with warranties included and FREE shipping, ALL FOR MORE THAN A THOUSAND + DOLLARS LE$$. S A V I N G S !!!!!! We were being overcharged for the R&F Aireloom QUEEN... By the way, that's for My King Bed, when we order the second King bed for Theresa the savings will add up to even more. You know what made me to want to keep looking- your ridiculous answer about the 'bunky board' - charging for that and you said you were willing to let us walk away because your prices are final; and nothing could be done. So we walked. Got a better deal with larger beds , all with Aireloom manufactured mattresses quality that has lifetime warranties for all the same potentials covered with the Raymor & Flanigan overpriced mattresses. I left the showroom and felt like we bought a used car. It felt dirty. What a poor business constraint they have you working under if that's true. You should have thrown in the bunky-damn board. Now you have lost our business forever. If a well has sour wretched water, you don't go back years later, thinking the water source has gotten cleaner. This will be my Google review; and just so you know my posts have legitimately amassed over 10million views in photos and reviews just like this- although most are positive experiences. I do not recommend anyone goto their local Raymour & Flanigan furniture store, unless they appreciate being unappreciated. ( see what I did there? Pretty cute...
