Where do I start? For being based in the Cherokee Nation Capital this casino is a far cry from anything worth your time and money. You can definitely tell that Hard Rock and other Cherokee Casinos get better treatment. They have a steakhouse attached to the casino but it has odd hours. The food is good but they clearly spent money on 5 star aesthetics for what felt like an average 3 star experience. The prices reflected what seemed like they were paying down the debt they're in to have a robot deliver my food to the table. As for the casino floor itself they do have a variety of slot machines but if you're looking for table games you'll have to go elsewhere. The machines hit and it's possible to win money but the excitement of a card game or a chance of fate with dice will not be found. Unfortunately management believes there is no money to be made with table games because they've had a lack of interest over 10 years ago despite the obvious growth of Tahlequah. They have a large event center called the Chota Center but goodluck enjoying this area as it's mostly filler. The few events they actually host are private. I suppose nobody told them the space could've been used for a non-smoking game area or even special table game events. So, if you like a smoke ridden casino with slots galore with a parking lot way to big for the casino itself, or fancy yourself playing cat and mouse with the steakhouse hours, this casino is for you. Otherwise, save your money, take a trip out of town and enjoy your...
Read moreWent and had a nice get together with some close friends and family for new years at the restaurant inside the casino. When we arrived the waitress came to the table and half a** greeted us and we asked what a paper that was inside the menu that said the special was and she rudely replied "that's only for our V.I.P. members" The robot brought out our starters and it sat beside our table for 5-10 minutes and finally I had to ask a security guard that was standing near the bar flirting with a server wether we are supposed to get our own food off the cart or if someone else does. After asking that the server she was chatting up and our server we had seen earlier came over and started handing the starters out. It was not busy at all, we were surprised since it was New Year's Eve but it was absolutely crazy how long it took to get our starters, beverages, and entrees. There were issues with our orders. It was definitely not an enjoyable experience this time. We made the best of it and enjoyed each other's company but the meals and service was far from on par for the price that was paid. 😭 Also that robot they use to send the food out almost hit one of us guest 2 different times while sitting in our chairs and it just stopped right beside her within inches of her while she was just sitting in her seat and after about 5 minutes a waitress came by and scooted it out of the way manually. It was definitely a let down as far as the experience...
Read moreSo to start with and give you some sort of idea I've been playing casinos for quite some time. I have won a little and I have lost a lot and I mean a LOT lol. Casinos are set up to win everybody knows that, they couldn't stay in business if they wasn't but every other casino I've ever been to gives a little back as it takes it from you and sometimes we even get a big win. Not at Cherokee casinos. If you don't believe me just walk into one and stand there for a few minutes. The silence is numbing because you expect to hear at least a few machines going off. I'm only leaving this place one star because I have to leave it something. I have never been to a casino where NOBODY is winning. Like when you walk into a casino you hear the ding ding ding of somebody winning something. This place is dead silent. I played 23 machines total ranging from $0.25 to $10 and I've never seen machines screwed down so tight that it is impossible to win anything. Literally nobody in the entire casino was winning anything because as I played I became curious as to why it was so silent. So I watched as I played. This is the third Cherokee casino I've been to and outside of Hard Rock all of the machines are the same. NOBODY wins. The play it was so bad that I turned my players club card in and told them I would...
