It's a nice park. Decently sized so if you see someone you know (cause hey... It's Olive Branch) who you don't want to talk to you can pretend you didn't see them and start jogging elsewhere and end up out of their range of view. Within the past few years they did major renovations by upgrading the playground and added a dog park. The playground is nice enough... fake grass that won't get muddy and way more equipment to collect toddler germs. Be careful on a saturday though, it gets crowded and there have been reports of sus individuals trying to coax your kids away. The dog park is cute, one section for the tiny pupperinos and one section for the big ol doggos. When I went there was a big doggy in the little doggy area and this Chihuahua picked a fight him. Big dog went chomp chomp on the lol guy and the owners screamed, frantically trying to separate them. He had him in his mouth, literally flinging him around. Finally they got separated but then the Chihuahua was STILL egging big boi on, and he ran RIGHT INTO HIS MOUTH AGAIN. So like everyone has their heads turned at this point, some people are going in to try to help. Eventually they got separated and calmed down for good, but it was intense, man. Oh and yall please research the foods the geese at the pond can eat before bringing any to them, bread isnt the best like seriously thats why they...
Read more4 stars because 1- there is no public wifi at the park, Southaven park beside the public library has wifi ; extended the olive branch library public wifi range to reach certain spots in the park so visitors can use when needed.
2- No public pool, only a small lake for the ducks but no swimming allowed; build a pool open to public and have a city employee/life guard present all the time , we would love our kids to swim and cool off especially during the midsouth summer heat.
3-Park perks are used by out of state residents, people from memphis with TN vehicle license plate are taking over park picnic tables, and utilizing our park perks ; Impose a park entrance fee for out of state vehicles, and have a city employee at the gates allowing only Desoto County tax payers with MS vehicle tags inside the park.
4- No elevated land to over look the park; Build a tower or may be a pyramid shaped construction where park visitors can walk up towards its top and enjoy the park view from the elevated building /tower just like the Vulcan Ironman...
Read moreWhy Google screwed up my review of Collierville's Silver Caboose Restaurant & Side Car Market into a review of the Olive Branch City Park, I don't know. Even more astounding is that it will not let me fix this problem, but will only let me edit the review. A southern food meat and 2 (vegetables) place. Won't seat you until whole party is there, which makes little sense when there are only going to be two as there are no one person tables. But, there is some limited waiting space with window benches. Otherwise, service was excellent.
Pot roast was good as were the butter beans (cooked southern well done but not falling apart). Asparagus casserole was interesting and tasty, and was actually light and fluff like a souffle. Good yeast rolls but a little dense for my taste.
The sweet tea was southern and good. The only disappointment was the blackberry cobbler with ice cream. It still tasted of blackberry but had too much dough and had been cooked so long that it lacked any even semisolid blackberries, which is...
