This trail is great, I walk it frequently with my family. It's a paved pathway, and it goes for what feels like forever! Great for kids, dogs, elderly, and for me while I was pregnant. The trees are beautiful this time of year, as well. I think the best part is how quiet it can be at times. Everyone I pass on the trail usually smile and are very friendly.
Bicyclists are on this pathway frequently but are usually very good about alerting when they are passing on your left.
Why four stars: There are some things about this area that make me uncomfortable at times. There are houseless people who sleep in the grassy area near the entrance at times, but I've never been bothered by any of them. Some sketchy cars linger in the parking lot, and people watch. And just recently, while I was walking with my son, some guy tried talking to me, winking at me, but I kept walking and ignored him. The public restroom has been closed the entire summer of 2025, both men's and ladies due to vandalism according to a sign posted on the women's restroom door. This is the only public restroom on the Chehalis Western Trail for about seven miles until bikers reach the Sculpture Park honeypot to the south or the Woodard Bay Trailhead to the north.
