Friends and coffee lovers, and fellow Amazonians. Please do not support this business. My friends were local roasters, but recently moved to Idaho, so, having to go on emergency access chest catheter dialysis for life 2 months ago, and continue to work after a few weeks off, I found this place near my treatment center, and where I live. I counted 26 times visiting there, on my cards.
I always had a pleasant experience with everyone there, except one person, who claimed to be the manager. On the way to dialysis one morning recently, I had pulled up to the window a few feet from it, and working night shift for 4 years at Amazon, and now having different schedules all week, for work, dialysis, medical appts, and coffee being one of the few drinks I can have still, I had forgotten to put on my mask. The manager female, instantly barked to me to put on (your mask). I simply said, as I put on the mask, I think we are 6 feet away. To which she angrily replied, "if you're going to argue with me you can go somewhere else." I said "I'm not arguing, I just forgot to put it on." She then says, "You're still fighting with me, and I'm at high risk, so you can leave NOW!" I said, "I am too. I'm on dialysis for life." She said again - LEAVE NOW." So, I quietly left, hurt, and stunned over her behavior.
I called the owner and explained the story, and asked him to call me back, which he did not. Later, I stopped in at my regular time in the late afternoon on my way to work, and there was no problem. I went early a second time, yesterday, thinking she was having a bad day, and it was sorted out. She saw me driving up to the drive-through, and yelled, "You're not supposed to be here, leave!" She then repeated it again, and I was speechless. She then told me she called the owner and he "thought it was ridiculous", that I treated her so horribly(her words.) I guess she preemptively called the owner - Chuck Kennedy, I think, and told a much different story than the truth.
I guess he doesn't care to hear both sides of such a small matter. PLEASE do not support this guy and his manager. There are much better coffee options, and nicer people that work at them.
For the record, I never deleted his comment. They deleted my first post on their Facebook site. I called to reason, so he heard part of my story on a short voicemail twice, and didn't call back to actually speak with me. He heard another version, from his employee, who has way more at stake, and embellished the story, which he chose to believe. And then tried to make it appear that I didn't want to hear both sides. I already knew her side. This happens all the time. People lie in many ways, like embellishing the facts, saying I felt this way, with no objective evidence to back it up, or leave out parts they know will hurt their narrative (lies of omission) In actuality, Morghan, Chuck's manager, is the one who used profanity. I have no stake in this at all, other than a convenient, place to get a cold brew coffee. Shalom.
This guy that owns the mediocre coffee shop, kept harassing me. Even yesterday he messaged me on Facebook messenger, after I said, I'm done with this exchange. Then he deleted my review on their FB page, changed the settings so no one can create a post. And threatened to call the police on me if I step foot on his property. Ludicrous. He then blocked me from Facebook, but I took screen shots of his comments with my phone. I also see reviews on here of similar experiences with rude baristas, and mask chastisement. We get it, wearing masks helps prevent oral, and nasal infection, etc. Sometimes people forget things, like ones who worked 60 hours through the pandemic to fulfil items to your house. And then while doing this, my kidneys failed, and I'm now on emergency dialysis for life, and still went back to work, and this is the way they treated me over something so trivial.
Response to the owner Chuck Kennedy's response, he won't admit: this guy has lied and twisted the narrative over and over. What faith did I question? I don't know what...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting customer service. The worst experience I have ever had at an establishment. I am a paragon of patience and they turned a slight error into such a monstrous and uncomfortable situation that it would be criminal of me not to try and warn others of the unpleasant experience you will likely encounter if you go here.
Everyone has bad days and hard times, but when I visited this place today as I used to often do, there was no line, it wasn't busy in the slightest. Lucky me I thought. Oh how naive.
I ordered several drinks and meal items, tipped generously and made my way home. However, upon getting home and taking a sip of my drink, I found it to taste like nothing but carbonated soda. Looking at the drink in a clear container, it was pale and practically colorless. A sad sight for a 32 oz. I called them right away and informed them that the drink had been improperly prepared and had no taste. They said to come in right away and they could fix it.
However, it is not easy for me to leave the house. It was a rarity I was able to get out for my initial trip. Plus I had hot food to enjoy. I asked them if I could please come and claim my drink at another time. To which they told me very flatly "No, it would have to be the same barista and yeah, sorry."
Right away, this lost me all points for them. I told them that was pretty frustrating but that I would come in then.
Upon arriving and telling them mine was the drink to remake, I asked to speak with a manager. They told me "One moment, ill get the managers number."
Already pretty weird that there is no management on the floor apparently. After waiting an awful long time for again somewhere with no line, the woman finally came back, incredibly rude and dismissive. She said "I am not going to give you my managers personal number" (No one ever asked for it?) and then gave me a number she said belonged to corporates.
When trying to ask clarifying questions the woman kept cutting me off, insisting she had given me all of the answers ((hard to tell when the story kept changing)) and just in general treated me like a problem.
Needless to say I have placed a call into corporate, where their voicemail encouraged "if you want to speak to someone right away, call our cafe". I'm sorry, you mean the cafe I was just dismissed at and treated like an issue because I had the audacity to point out an erroneous error? Its not like I asked for ice and they put ice in there, I asked for a certain drink and got water. Like, that is an actual issue. But no, if you dare to try and speak to someone, you will be almost combatively brushed aside.
Save yourself the grief, pass up this place. Was boycotting Starbucks for how gross they are and thought this would be a good alternative. Have been going here for years without issue. The one time I say something I get this ridiculous display. So sad....
Read moreI’ve been getting coffee here for a long time. It used to be my fav spot and the food is pretty good and really well priced. However within the last 2 or so months the service has been pretty horrible. I’ve worked in coffee for a long time and managed plenty of locations. The staff needs customer service training badddd. I would retrain my whole staff if it took them that long to make pretty simple drinks too. There’s no smile or a warm welcome anymore, just girls who clearly don’t seem happy to be there. Not to mention the last 3 times I’ve been there my drink has been made wrong and things have been forgotten, it’s like they aren’t really listen. One time I ordered some food and got my drinks but no one came to tell me my food would be out soon , they just walked away and left the window open. She ignored me every time she walked past the window and finally I had to shout to get an answer after waiting for almost 10 mins and then she told me she was waiting on my food. Would have been nice to know instead of sitting there assuming you just forgot again. The other day this poor girl was working and it must of been her first day. She was so sweet but she messed up like 6 times and forgot our food, it wasn’t her fault really, she wasn’t set up for success by her manager with enough training, I would have never done that to my girls. Just got my drink back wrong againnn, I was too annoyed to get it fixed here again for like the 3rd time this week. I’m just gonna go elsewhere. I hope the location manager really considers doing some retraining if they want the best for this location, when functioning well this place is better than any other coffee...
