I may be showing my age here, but I remember when this was a fully enclosed mall, with Sears, Woolworth's (I miss that lunch counter) and the Bon(?) as anchors. I spent time at Olympic Cards & Comics and ate at the DQ that was across from it.
If you know where to look, the fountains and inner mall are still visible from the back of the stores.
The current mall is essentially Target, Kohl's and Sears. Sears is falling apart, hardly can shop there anymore, as it's a sad reminder of what happens to a good company not able to adapt to changing times.
I've not been into Kohl's, so I'm not qualified to comment on it. Target, on the other hand, is an upscale Walmart. Decent grocery section, something that that side of the freeway lacked. The buildings surrounding the mall are home to Walgreen's, a dialysis clinic, Petsmart, and other...
Read moreSouth sound has a bit of everything and I love it. Rite-aid, Target, Fred Meyer, PetSmart, the dollar store all in one spot makes it easier to get groceries at the best deal without having to drive across town to get the dog food, detergent, whatever that's on sale at such and such place. They have Marshalls, Value village, Payless and Kohl's for shopping, you want to grab a bite to eat? Plenty of options, typical fast food fare Taco Bell, Carl's Jr, McDonalds, Wendy's, or you can go asian with poke bowl, bubble tea or my personal favorite Koibito's there is also an Applesbees or a Thai restaurant around the corner. Office Depot, vacuum shop that does repairs, a Verizon accross the street, I mean really this spot has it all. Nothing bad to...
Read moreThis was a cool mall when I was younger. The memories... many hours spent in the Gold Mine video game arcade. Sears is the only original store left. There was a fountain on each end of the mall. Mervyn's was on the other end. Woolworths was in the middle, with a cookie shop right next to it, they made the best chocolate cookie with a chocolate marshmallow topping! The Mouse House during Christmas! I remember them holding a huge Pogs tournament! Pogs! Lol! I worked at the mall for a while when all the stores were closing. Wow the surge of memories coming back! Now the place is just a few big box stores and craft shops. There is a Marshall's for the...
