I would not recommend this theater for a family movie going experience any day of the week. Their management is very poor and I will officially be taking my business elsewhere. I’ve spent countless amount of money into this theater and will not throw my money into some place that does not respect families hard earned money. I was denied a simple request of a larger water and they could not even fulfill that request. I will either take my business back to majestic theater on 144th and maple or simply go to AMC Theatres where I certainly will get more rewards than at Marcus Theatres. Foremost, I spoke to the manager on duty and she did not de escalate the situation in any way. I then only wanted to speak to a manager higher than her. I then spoke to the “manager” Cody and he did not de escalate the situation whatsoever and refused to accommodate a simple request to not only a mother foremost but a fellow human being. Do better. Be kind and humble. Time is precious and I’m certainly not wasting it in a place they can barely upkeep. I understand the teenagers here are ruining the movie going experience but that is no reason to not accommodate other guests with disabilities. I sat in a place where I could get out easily and the ticket person then night before was willing to accommodate my disability request kindly. Wish you the best but my family will go where we are actually welcomed and embraced. I recently lost my father and this memory will forever be engrained in my head as one more person to keep me down and my mouth kept shut. I won’t stand for that and my hope is that no one else will as well. Take care, from my humble and kind family to someone who was not kind of humble...
Read moreThis movie theater is a shell of its former self. If you have been here within the first ~7 years it was built, it is very different inside. I went this last weekend on Sunday. I recognize that the weekend after Thanksgiving is usually a busy one for movie theaters. But we also went shortly after noon, which I would expect means there were not many moviegoers yet.
The lobby was filthy. Popcorn crumbs everywhere. The concessions counter was visibly dirty as well. They seemed to be understaffed and were not keeping up on fresh popcorn despite all three cashiers having a line. In addition, they had no sodas or icees whatsoever. They listed it as having a CO2 leak. Another reviewer posted a review from several months prior to the writing of this one and also was broken then. What was their solution this time for the broken machines? Very expensive bottles of water and Gatorade, none of which were cold. For the price they charge to see the movie and to get concessions, the lobby should be spotless.
Inside, the movie theater was clean (at least from what I could see), the seats were mostly comfy (though loud when reclining), and the moviegoing experience was not bad in itself. I wish that it made up for the rest of the experience.
My last stop after the movie was the bathroom. It was grungy. There was grime built up on the walls and the sinks looked like they took a long stint in the dump (and additionally did not dispense water well). For the cleanliness expectations I had, see above with my comments on the lobby.
If the managers of Marcus Village Pointe see this, please focus on bettering the experience and the reputation will turn...
Read moreI bought two tickets this morning for Incredibles two for the 2 o’clock showing. When we got to the theater there was a family that had taken our seats. The mom was extremely rude but acknowledge that they at least stole one of our seats but still refused to move, so I went to go find a manager or someone that worked at the theater. I found two girls at the concessions counter and they said it’s been happening all day and they would go get my seats back the family still threw a huge fit and refuse to move so we had to go up to the front desk to figure out what was happening. Up till this point it was all this lady’s fault nothing the theater had done up to this point was wrong . Once we got up to the desk there was a manager the lady stormed up told them to “leave her family alone so they could watch the movie in peace!” so the manager told her to go enjoy the movie and they would get a refund when they were done. He gave my seats away without even getting a little bit of the story. The girls tried to stop him and tell him what was going on and that the lady was in the wrong and they were my seats he didn’t even look at the tickets he just gave them away give us a refund and set us on our way. The seats the family had purchased were 14 through 18 our seats were 11 and 12 .... I’m very sorry for this lady that she got to be about 40 and not know how to count. And I hope the theater could find a manager the could actually solve problems not just send the “scary” people away so they don’t have to...
